So wife and I finally got in to a dealership to get a Vibe. We'd been researching for weeks trying to figure out exactly what we wanted in a car and settled on a Vibe. We were still discussing which options we wanted on the drive to the dealership. Finally decided base Vibe with ABS and side air bags. Almost went for the whole safety package and got Stabilitrak, which would really have broken my heart as it would mean getting an automatic transmission.Anyway, turns out that there was only one car in Canada that matched what we wanted and was the wrong color. We briefly considered just getting a base model off the lot, but ended up doing a factory order. Now the count down begins waiting for it to show up. Dealership said this could be 60-90 days. If any of you work at the factory, crack that whip, lol, and be nice to the Salsa base model with ABS and side air bags.
60 to 90 eh? Wow thats an improvement over two years ago. I think someone here waited 7 months for their factory order. Mine was supposed to be a 5 month wait, but I snagged a cancelled order one month after I placed the order (same car I wanted, but it was Satellite instead of Salsa - I can live with that to get a car 4 months sooner).

congratulations and welcome to genvibe. Since you'll be getting the car in the middle of winter, remember that the factory tires are probably not very good in the snow.
Thanks all for the warm welcome. Hope this is as much fun as my old air cooled VW days Quote, originally posted by joatmon »congratulations and welcome to genvibe.
