Ok, so at another's advice, I went for the 100/90 xenons..I installed them, and put them on. Damn they bright! But when I put the high beams on, I hung around the front headlights to make sure all was well, and I could smell something burning in the engine compartment directly behind the lights. this isn't my wiring, is it? Can both the wiring and the plastic lenses on this car handle that really high wattage bulb?
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Vibe come with stock 30/60w head light. That's mean on high beam stock take 5A. When you put 90/100w, it takes 7.5A on low beam and more then 8A on high beam. I think the burn smell come from the wiring. Wiring gauge is not big enough to drive 8A. Usualy, when we change head light with power a much as 100w, we have to change the head light relay and the wiring to handle this power without causing any trouble. If I were you, I would change the wiring to avoid electrical trouble. If you don't want to do it, put back the stock light or go for 70w head light.
