Just got my new 05 Vibe

Hi there,I'm a proud new owner of a 05, salsa base Vibe. I like the look so much, inside & out. And to my surprise I got the Goodyear tires instead of the Conti I read so much about it here. The only thing right now that I can complain about is the weak paint. Got my first scratches 1 hour after I picked up the car from the dealer. I guess my dog was so anxious to see it ... she jumped on the front passenger door and left her mark! Our other car is a Toyota Tercel 99 and even if she jumped on it, the paint wouldn't scratch. Any suggestions to smooth it out easily (it's not that deep).Thanks in advance!EricMontreal, CAN

Welcome! Ouch! Dogs and jumping on cars, big fear of mine. Without actually seeing them the rule of thumb is if you can feel the scratches with your finger nail, rubbing them out will most likly not work. If they are just on the surface and on the clear, I always use 3Ms Imperial Hand Glaze. If deeper I usually try wet sanding, then 3M Finesse It polish, then the Imperial Hand Glaze. If down past the clear and into the paint or one that you can feel with a finger nail, a scratch like that would need paint. I know your are not that deep I am just making a comment on deep ones.
