dashboard scratches

Post by discojunkie76 »

I have an 05 vibe, and the dashboard has that dull matte finish, anyway a cd fell out of my visor and made a shiny scratch on the dash and I can't get rid of it, its driving me nuts!!! i was thinking of using a high gloss armor all just to make the whole dash look shiny? Anyone have any suggestions about resolving this problem.

Depending on how deep or how big the scratch is, (and how much it bothers you) you could see about getting the plastic repaired... I've had a couple of places fixed on my dash, both due to cargo carrying experiments gone bad. One place was on the passenger's air bag cover, the other was a deep scratch on the glove box door. The dealer repaired both places for me, free of charge. They have a guy who they have a contract with that has a mobile plastic and vinyl repair gig... Basically he matches up the color, and applies some goo to the dash, and puts a texture in it similar to the existing material. Granted, you can still tell there was damage on my dash, but it looks a little better than it did with the scrapes and gashes...

Try using a plastiv, vinyl, and rubber cleaner.Stoner makes a product called "trim cleaner for interior surfaces." Took lots of scratches off my dash that I thought were not gonna come off..
