Gas milage

Post by alk21633 »

I own a 2004, 2 wheel drive auto Vibe, pretty welll equiped. Recently I took a trip from western Pa to Conn. almost all on limited access highway with cruise set at 65MPH. this was over the Pa mountains and necer faulted. Trip was about 460 miles and I made it on initial fill up getting over 31mpg. Back home, stop and go driving in a hilly area I only get about 26 or 27mpg. My dealer says that is good. Not in keeping with window stickers though. Comments and experiences please.

Good scenery through those areas too.Your mileage is about average considering the variables. I've kept track of my mileage over the past couple years. Check it out here:http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...#3069Also you can browse the Engine & Transmission forum for more gas mileage-related threads - or click here to run a Search: click here (then click the SEARCH button to run the search)P.S. Don't mind the initial lashing.

I've got an early, early 2003 base model automatic, now sporting over 51,000 miles (I honestly believe I was the 1st person in N. Georgia to own one... I'd been watching for it since it was a concept. Now they're everywhere- I'm a trendsetter! ). I've got a nice flat 25-mile commute one way to work, and I average between 31 and 34 mpg. When I hit the interstate, I get upward of 36 mpg. The only mods I have are a Flowmaster air filter and a set of Bosche Platinum +4 spark plugs. Dunno if that's any help, but I'm fairly pleased with it (my old Saturn got 38mpg on a bad day, but only had 90hp!).~~Z600BTW, did you know the Matrix/Vibe ranks #9/#10 in the top 10 cleanest cars in the US? And that's even competing with the hybrids! I saw an article awhile back on MSN.
