Factory HU question.

Post by Bryan »

I just got my Vibe last week and discovered something weird about the factory HU. Every so often, a totally random and undamaged disk will refuse to play or will play very poorly. The HU makes a sort of scraping sound when "spinning up" and while changing tracks with these disks. My question is, are the factory HU's just tempermental or do I need to take my car in for service? By the way, all CD-R's I've used have worked without a problem.

Some people have reported trouble with random discs. Could be a bad radio. No harm in mentioning it to your dealer.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

It's probably an alignment problem with the spindle for the CD player. Mine was doing the same thing so I took it to the dealer and they just gave me a completely new CD/radio deck. (btw if you get it replaced make sure you take the CD's out first, I left mine in and the dealer shipped it off to a warehouse so I had to ***** at them to get the CD's back).
