I'm going to take the struts off and take them to an autoshop to have them put on the springs...is the correct? Why couldn't I put the springs on myself? What autoshop does a good job at a good price for this operation?
You can remove springs yourself *IF* you have the corect spring compressors. I'd call Murray's. They do this free for people who buy struts from them. Call around and find one who won't charge an arm and a leg.
I don't have spring compressors so I'd have to take it to a shop. So all I do is take out the struts and bring those and the new springs to the autoshop so they can swap the springs, then bring them back home and put the struts back on and I'm ready to go?
You can get a spring compressor from Autozone for $40, but they return ALL of your money when you bring it back. It's basically free. That's what I did.
'04 base model, abyss, manual.Mods: Removed roof racks & Vibe badging; added reflective black overlays to front & steering wheel Pontiac stars; shorty antenna; Tein S-tech springs; 18x8" Mille Miglia EV-S wheels; black calipers; 17% tint all around; Mr. Grille billet grille; Silverstar headlights, foglights, & turn signals; custom "fatigue mat" mats in cargo area; & tinted license plate cover.
Hmmm, that's a good idea. Though I got rear ended so I'm gonn ahav eto wait until I buy a new bumper before I get the springs....There's allways somethinhg out there just waiting to ruin your plans lol.
