I am searching around on the web a bit for the best price for the Injen Racing Division's Cold Air Intake. On Injen's website, the part number for the Vibe GT/Matrix XRS is listed as RD 2075 P for the polished intake. They are also available in blue and red, I think. How much did you guys pay for yours or what is the best price you could find so far? Please don't include things like "my mother's uncle's son's girlfriend's dad works for an Injen supplier so I got mine really cheap." Only prices available to the general public, please and in USD.Here is what I found so far:NOPI---$262.14racerwheel.com---$222.22jcwhitney.com---not availableI saw somewhere before, and I know some of you got it, the free Injen oil cap that came with the CAI. Who was offering this deal? Any help is appreciated.

Here is the absolute lowest I have found with some help from other members:$201.88 at ADVENTON.COM This is where I am going to get mine from. They also have matching Injen oil caps for around $35. I haven't heard of a free oil cap deal.

I just discovered this. On the Adventon website, the price for a red or blue Injen CAI is $201.88.For one with the polished finish it is only $195.76. The best price I've seen so far. If anyone finds one cheaper, please post the price and where you saw the offer. Thanks!

Are there really any differences in the different manufactures of CAIs? Is there any noticeable performance difference between the Injen and the others?Jim

Ah oh, here we go again with the debate on which CAI is better and will give your car 2-5 more hp over the others. In my opinion, they are all about the same performance wise. You can compare dyno charts all you want, anything is an improvement over the stock airbox. If your into dressing up your engine, I would suggest just buying one that looks good in your car from a company that you like and/or trust. If you just want the extra performance you can make a CAI that's very inexpensive.

I ordered my blue Injen CAI and matching blue Injen oil cap 03/28/03 from Adventon.com. The price for both with shipping was $252.63. That is the lowest price I have found yet. I can't wait to get it.Lancer is right, you should go with an intake that looks good or a brand that you prefer. There isn't enough of a horsepower difference to matter. I went with the Injen because they have the matching oil cap. It should look really nice.

I have to agree with Triton and Lancer on this one. It is really just a matter of preference. The 2 most popular CAI's for the Vibe/Matrix seem to be the Injen and the AEM. Reportedly, the AEM gives a little more torque lower in the RPM range than the Injen does. The Injen is supposedly supplying the bulk of the additional power up higher in the RPM range. I like the Injen one a little better because I have the GT engine that is already making its' big power up high anyway. So I'll take all of my power all at once, thank you. The overall difference between the two seems negligable, maybe 2-3 HP at the most, with the Injen having that slight upper hand. Some people on here have made their own CAI from some tubing they got and clamps and so on. These homemade CAI's will be an improvement over the stock airboxes, but I highly doubt that they will perform as well as or better than the Injen or AEM units. Those companies put a lot of engineering and testing into making their product, so I find it very hard to believe that any old Joe in his garage at home tinkering around with some PVC pipe and worm-gear clamps can make one designed as well or better than the professionally manufactured ones. If you want the looks and proven power gains, go for a manufactured one. If you are happy with gaining a few HP and spending less than $20 to do it, make one yourself. Someone posted directions on here on how to make one yourself at home, you can do a site search to find it.

**Reviving this old thread**I still have not ordered a CAI yet but I'm pretty serious about getting one now. The prices seem to have changed, and they've gone UP! Anyone who can find a good price on the Injen CAI for a 2003 GT please post it here.A quick check shows:ptuning.com: $255.95 (free shipping)adventon: $256.00 (it says before rebate, but doesn't say how much the rebate is)These things were down under $200 last year, why did they go up $55 all of a sudden?

Quote, originally posted by Triton »Here is the absolute lowest I have found with some help from other members:$201.88 at ADVENTON.COM Adventon is the cheapest I have seen the vibe intake, but understand that it is not an authorized INJEN dealer. They do not have to honor warrantys.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4994Also, I see that the vibe GT and matrix XRS CAIs are the same part number. If it is not a dedicated Vibe intake, and you are gonna have to push the filter out of the way of the foglamp anyway, why not get the cosmo racing intake for $108 instead? So far people here have said good things.http://www.cosmoracing.com/pro...d=410

Nope I just checking shipping is $25 little expensive if you ask me and we were talking about the price of the INJEN for the GT which is $211 starting for a total of $236and holy cow the INJEN for the XRS from Adventon.com is $256 (before instant rebate... )*update: ok well I checked the supposed instant rebate thing and couldn't find anything even when you go to the payment screen the price still remains at $256 plus $16 shippingHopupracing.com would still be the way to go
Is there a difference between the CAI for an awd or base or GT? I have an awd and havent done much research on the whole CAI but I would like to have one, are they difficult to put in and should I take it off in the snow?

Thanks to everyone for your searching help and CAI suggestions. I'll check into these.Quote, originally posted by Flip-Side »If it is not a dedicated Vibe intake, and you are gonna have to push the filter out of the way of the foglamp anyway, why not get the cosmo racing intake for $108 instead? So far people here have said good things. The Cosmo intake may be a decent product, or even an outstanding one, but I'm not willing to take the risk. I don't want to have to buy and install a CAI twice. Someone saying that "I can feel the difference" doesn't cut it for me. I could charge you $500 and take your car for a day, make up some bs about cool stuff I changed on your engine while actually doing nothing to it, and give it back to you. You might tell me that you can really feel a difference even though there is none. Classic placebo effect. There is something to be said for dyno-proven results, which Injen so far seems to be the only CAI manufacturer who is confident enough in its' products to go through the expense and trouble to dyno test them and share the results. That's what I like to see and that is the kind of company that I will buy products from.
