My first door ding! AAAAaaaaarrrrrrgh!!!!!

Post by ebslopp »

I knew it was going to happen eventually, but I received my first door ding. It's not a very bad one. It is on the door molding, so the car isn't actually dented it at. But the paint is completely gone in a patch of about 1/8 inch around. What should I do about it? Should I take it to a body shop to have it repaired, or should I buy an thing of touch up paint and do it myself?

I noticed my first door ding about 2 weeks ago. Went 2 years without one. This is a pretty bad one too. Probably about and inch and a half in diameter.

its starts at $89 for a ding the size of a quarter and goes up from there. 20% off for AAA members. (just on ding removals thought, not paint.

I would just buy some touchup paint. There is no reason to get that side molding replaced for just one nick. I think my passenger side molding has like 4 on it. It sucks that people can't respect other people's things, but it would get expensive to replace that molding everytime it was damaged. Just my .02.

Just my .02.I have no intentions on replacing side molding, just repairing. It would be silly to replace the molding for some missing paint. I was just wondering if the average joe like me can use a bottle of touch up paint and get decent results. Or should I leave it to the professionals?
