OK to mix synth with conventional

Post by tots »

I've got about 3 quarts of Mobil-1 5w30 and an unopened quart of Quaker State 5w30. Is it OK to mix these 2 on my next oil change? Will I in any way void the engine warrenty by doing this? Thanks.

You won't void any warranty but why mix synthetic with regular oil? It sort of defeats the purpose of synthetic oil.I use Mobil 1 5w30 in my Vibe to, great choice.

I have used nothing but Mobil-1. I just want to get rid of the quart of conventional and it seemed a good time since I only have 3 quarts of Mobil-1 left. It's definitely a 1 time deal.

it won't do any harm other then you won't have full synthetic in your car. But for the one litre, got no one to sell it to? put that towards another litre of mobil 1?
