any idea if these work on our vibes?!? i didnt do much work, i just found somebody with a celica running only a AEM CAI and a Power FC(fuel manegment) and running 13.7 1/4miles(ok ok and drag slicks), looks like this thing works..? like a home tuned anytime unichip almost?!

actualy its a full stand alone ecu, much more complex than unichip.youcan tune it yourself only if you know how to tune a ecu otherwise youll need to take it to a dyno shop like everyone else.it will need a custom harness to work to a vibe matrix(celica ecu is in engine bay)also it disables obd2 and only works on sticks. i doubt if any non celicas have it yet.monkeywrench racing migt be able to help you out.

well im not expecting to know how to use it with my almost no actualy car knowledge in the area of install and tuning, i know what parts are neat, and how to drive the vibe, but thats were my knowledge endsunless its extremely expensive (like over 1k) id be willing to think about it, but unichip might just do the job, still that CAI, Apexi, and race slick getting a 13.7 1/4mile amazes me, soooo i am kinda getting leared into the idea, i know the celica is faster in general, but tested by proffesionals stock wise the 03GT ad celica i think were only about .4 seconds off (15.1 to 15.5) mind you with really really good drivers at the wheel

Monkeywrench Racing developed preprogrammed Power FC maps for the 2zz engine. They sell Power FC's for $978 plus $25 for a preprogrammed map. If you want a custom tune expect to spend at least $300 more. Don't forget a custom wiring harness ($$$) to connect it.I'm not sure this will work in a Vibe. The 03 and newer Celica's have a "drive by wire" system (the gas pedal is not directly connected to the throttle body) and the Power FC doesn't work with that. The Vibe, I believe, is not a "Drive-by-wire". I make this statement on the fact that I can reach into the engine compartment and rev the engine just by pushing on the cable attatched to the throttlebody.. I'm not sure if that's true or not, i'm sadly lacking in engine mechanical knowledge...

The 03 and 04 are not drive by wire. I have heard that the 05s are though. I haven't looked myself, but I wouldnt be surprised if this is true.

With PFC you lose warm-up mode, knock retard, protection from bad gas etc, CEL warnings, and limp home modes. I look at it as more of a racers mod since you're going to tune it pretty close to the edge and a small problem could become a big one. The universal maps are really only there to get you started and to the dino. It may be OK in sunny CA. or if you have a custom turbo and run a bit rich but not for my daily driver. Unichip will still work on a 2005.

so would you just recommend Unichip then? how did it work for you goodvibe?

It's a level of comitment issue. The chip is particularly good in the lower RPM ranges. Wont gain you $700 worth of time but makes the car a much more enjoyable ride.
