how to fasten the basslink?

Post by chrispyone »

so i did end up getting a basslink for my system. the infinity speakers i installed didn't have enough bass. so i'm planning on intstalling it in the back with the stands. anyone know how i should fasten it to the plastic cover? im thinking regular screws might rip out with all the movement and i'll need a bracket and a bolt or something on the bottom side of the plastic. any suggestions?

Search the archives for my pics of my Kenwood sub install. This may give you some ideas. I used the moulded in tracks and clips, but used a M6 bolt to secure my sub.(Search for keyword "woox")Good luck, I'm sure the Infinity will ROCK! I just thought it was too big and I wasn't willing to give up that much cargo room.

Actually...If you can find the screws/mounting hardware from your door speakers, it comes with these little metal "L" brackets that're designed to be screwed into, if you use those on the bottom of the plastic cover, it'll hold it down.

I just used some wood screws, the bigest that would fit in the whole. I've had my baslink for a year now and it seems to be holding. Bear in mind I have the AWD and don't take corners at 100 MPH. Long term though I suppose I should get bolts. I like the corner mount. The bass just reflects off the corners. It also take up less space.if you do mount it on the drivers side you can also tap into the speaker level outputs from the back of the radio.

chrispyone---It seems you've had you're Basslink for some time now and I was wondering how you like it now and how the mounting of the Basslink is holding up?? If anyone else is running a basslink I'd like to hear their input also.Steveaka frozenfloridian
