Well I was on my way home to Fort McMurray.....and I was about an hour away when I hit a deer. Probably over $10,000 in damage done.....if not more.I am ok......bit of a sore neck....but other then that I am good.http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286237001Here some pics of my car.
Got me a new car!!A 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS S/C!!Black w/ black leather interior
Sorry for your mishap. The pics are unreal. The damage didn't look that bad in the first photo (from the passenger side), but the other three really show the destruction. That deer really had your number! Looks like it got the radiator, too. Hope you get a fair settlement from the insurance company. (Inserting tongue firmly in cheek, "I assume the deer was uninsured.")
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
Quote, originally posted by ragingfish »Amazing the airbags didn't deploy!they didnt' when i hit a deer also...the autobody guy at the dealership explained that the airbag sensors are usually in the dash somewhere around the firewall. inorder for them to be activated, the shock wave has to travel through the bumper and into the chasis, around the engine to the sensors (this is to prevent them from going off at moderate impacts...if you look at his pics and compare them to mine http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...age=2it's almost an identical hit...above the bumper into the rad/etc. and barely touching the bumper at all! hence no transfer of shockwave.Mine came out to about $11k for a 98 golf. so you estimate is probably correct at the same amount!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
