Post by silvervibeGT »

just a quick ? why is the colored intake more than the polished one? Does the polished lose it's look over time, or are they charging you for the paint??? Thanks

The AEM intakes are anodized. But the Injen intakes maybe painted. Not for certain. Inder Singh

Pretty sure it's paint. Mine's scraped off in several locations. It's almost like a powder-coat I think.silvervibeGT: yes, you want XRS components, but why two parts?

Probably not powder-coat if it's scraped off in a few places.. I was under the impression that powder-coating makes it nearly impervious to such things.. Only an impression though..

Powder-coating's tough, but it's still possible to scratch or chip it.However, due to the gloss they usually want to put on shiny engine parts like these, if it's not anodized (which can't scratch or come off) then it's almost guaranteed to be paint.

when I ordered my Injen CAI from PTuning.com it stated that the CAI for the XRS was "Actual model is a 2-piece intake design" that is why I said two pieces...any problems with the install that I should know about?
