help programming auto locks

hey guys, i had to have my remote replaced friday,and the dealerdidn't do something right,i'm suppose to take it back in next weekbut i want to see if i can do this, does anyone know how to programthe locks where they lock when you put in gear and unlock in park?you know like it was from the factory. thanks for any help.

Mine ('03 automatic) never locked/unlocked with the transmission either.I sent basic programming instructions to your registered user email address.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

my 04 was doing it since the day i took delivery of the car, untill saturday at least,dealer told me to bring it back in next weekand he would reprogram,he said that it was just a matter of manual input with the new key.

He's asking about programming a new fob not unlocking the doors. It's very easy, here's the procedure:

You're right. I didn't even read that part. thanks guys for all the help, between you and the vibe owner down the street we got it programmed,now the doors lock in drive andunlock in park just like it did when i drove it off the showroom floor.thanks to all

Either he has the ONLY Vibe in existance that did that, or the dealer put in an aftermarket alarm. Even still..alarms lock/unlock on the key being in the "ON" position...A mystery, indeed.

i love that image with the programming instructions!! If you didn't tell me that was authentic i'd be (removed)! Imagine what your neighbours would think if you were inserting and pulling out the key in the ignition and opening and closing the driver door so often!!!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
