ddx 7015 installed

Post by flyby »

well it is now istalled and WORKS. I still have to fill the gap between the dash but it can wait. I will also ptu some pics on here I hope they work. Maybe you guys can use them when refering people to B3 questions and the whole power lead to the amp. Two questions though, I need an antenna atatchment for the new HU that fits. and I have read that by running the new HU to the amp it will sound bad and overheat the amp. Please enlighten me. Let's see if these pics work. how do I put more pics on here? I have about eight (the new brackets i had to make, wires etc.)

What's it look like on? Is it just video, does it do Nav? As for the antenna, are you talking about for the FM/AM to the back of the radio? It's a metra piece called the 40GM10. You can get it at CC or BB.You should be okay with the M&T amp...though if you replace the door speakers, i'd bypass it. If you're just changing the radio, you can probably leave it as-is.

Jahntassa,The Navigation for that unit is an add-on piece which is, I think, about $700 more. The good thing about this Kenwood is that you can add on parts when you get the money, like the Nav system and TV tuner.Dave

I'm gonna try to homebrew a video input into the factory NAV system. While this isn't the best way to do it...the only other Nav system i'd get (The Pioneer AVIC-N1), has been buggy, according to the Pioneer Mobile Universe group on yahoo..That Kenwood piece looks quite sweet though, especially in the Vibe dash!

It's mostly general issues...map not "up to date"..blah blah.. A lot of whiney people that don't understand the workings of GPS.. A few things are kinda strange with it..but i'm sure it'll get fixed.Heh..sorry for stealing the thread!
