i beleive it was XS makes a celica 2ZZ kit that comes clear out with new internals, new fuel system, and a turbo of course, now lets say i had the 5k to buy this kit, installed it with custom work to fit some of the parts etc etc, and ran at between 4-8PSI for starters, do you think my GT would be safe, i would have no problem running really low boost during daily driving like 4 or 5, id like to do 8 or so every once in awile, but its not like everytime i hit the road i gotta go all out and be andretti in a Vibe GT, anyways what do you thinkright now i dont hav eth emoney, just wondering as i may have this car possibly for the next 6+ years of my life
yes but with this setup do you think it would do the job safe enouph to get a extra 100k plus out of the motor with lowboost, assuming the engines in good orderand then how high with this stuff do you think you could boost it, if there running 14PSI with stock on VVT, then surely reworked internals would probably allow a safe 10PSI out of a VVTL
If you have 5K to blow on this kit, why don't you just put a bigger engine in the car?

It is the Sf turbo, and piping and stuff, but he is using Power FC for management. He has a new motor waiting to put in. So he just keep turning up the boost to see how stock internals hold...So far he has put down 276whp at 11psi that is at least 300hp at the crank! ..5psi feels pretty good in a celica gt-s...save your money, The xs kit is pricey. Sf is working on a matrix/ Vibe 2zz kit...it will be under 4k for sure.

2006 MazdaSpeed6 GT which is for sale if anyone is interested...
i log in everyday so ive been around.i smoked the clutch pretty bad last summer so im laying off it till i get a new clutch.(im trying to resist my addiction but its hard).

its only reccomended for around 15 seconds at a time. so for most cars a quarter mile drag should still be safe.dpending on hp jetting about 10 or more races per bottle

I mean, I was driving around with my stock clutch for a year with my turbo. I believe Devlop tore his up in about 2 hours after the turbo Just kidding...it was a whole month or something seriously, I had to baby mine way to much to get it to last so long..no slamming gears, and no riding the clutch, nor super agressive launches . The tranny is the same. Torque is what kills the tranny. The 2zz is not even as much as a torque beast as the 1zz. This is also true under boost. The 2zz is all about high end power, and Smaay has not broke his tranny yet, and he has the best 2zz trak time of 13.5 that i know of. A little respect for the equipment goes a long way... I should talk it was only a week ago that i was saying " i wonder what 14psi is like?"LOL Today I was driving at 6psi ...to pay penance to all the abuse I have heaped on my poor Vibe....Sooooo I think you could run 300hp on these trannies if you are very alert, because there are a couple of Spyder guys who are with their stock trannies, (1zz again). There is a celica guy in europe who is building a tougher tranny w/ LSD, and it will be able to take some serious abuse. he said it will cost about 3k (eeek), but that tranny is the same as ours.

It is not stiff at all.Are you going to get one soon, or do you have to wait awhile???

unfortunately the europe tranny six speed is slightly different but they are making geasrsets that hopefully fit both housings. im leaving more toward the act clutch faultline. i was in devlops car and the clutch wasnt that bad im leaning toward a heavier clutch which i hope will prevent me from riding it all the time like i do the stock clutch.when mwr finally gets those kaiten flywheels and i get the money . its going in

The rps clutch is suppose to hold 300ft#'s of torque. Both Masyver and aerospike dont like their ACT clutch, and neither did Kieraceli. They are all turbo cars. They complained about it being stiff , and grabbing too abruptly. That doesnt mean they are bad, because others like it. I wanted to go with ACT because they are out here in the desert, and i like to patronize my neighborhood when I can. But I said 3 strikes, you are out!LOL. Carver the spyderguy , has a Spec V 300 #ft torque pressure plate, with a 2 puck disk that is spring centered to be quite drivable. Stafford told me in drives nice as well, soooo that is another option to look into.........alot of mr-s guys talk the Spec-v...

I think the weak link in the tranny is the final and not the individual gears. I believe someone on the celica forum sheared some teeth on a dyno at just over 275HP. Of coarse that's full load and we don't know what condition it was in before the run. You could always pull your tranny apart, cryo treat and reassemble. If heard it does wonders for durability. Pain in the ars, but cheap if you're handy and looking for 300hp.
