They gave me a big battery to replace my leaking smaller one at the Gen Vibe MI Meet.

I had asked in the meet thread, but it got buried in pen talk so I deleted the post and reposted it here. Did you talk to the Pontiac reps about paint problems, or 2zz clutch issues?Nice to hear that I am supposed to look for premature rust around the hatch, but since I'm out of warranty that doesn;t really help. Are they going to provide any special consideration to out of warranty owners for the rust problem?Did anybody talk to them about paint problems? Did anybody at the meet show them bad paint? How about the updated DRL module. Is that something that 03 owners can get replaced? What are they doing to address the poor reliability of Continental tires? What explanation did they provide for the poor gas mileage that a lot of members complain about. Have they investigated that, and what have they found out? What kind of warranty repair statistics do they have? What is the mosst common warranty repair? Are there any developing reliability trends that we should be looking for in our cars? There was such a strong GM representation there, hope genvibers got more out of it than just a couple of on the spot freebies.

well the vibe manager talked to me about 20 minutes, wanting to know if i liked the car, any problems (i've got a matrix) and i told him no not really, and if i've seen any problems with the matrix, again i told him no. only couple things i told him, squeaking clutch pedal (2zz) and wish i had one touch sunroof, open and close. he kept asking about the batteries, myself at our dealer only 1 battery been replaced due to the headlamp controls (tsb for toyota) i did say to him about the battery thing for the vibes, and i see in the 05 matrix the battery has more CCA so maybe this will help out new matrix/vibe owners.

I have had my Vibe for 17 months and never opened the rear window - seemed like a nice feature at the time I bought it but I have never had any reason to use it. I will look for rust if I remember.

Much thanks for the rust info. I just opened my hatch glass and pulled off the weatherstripping. Just washed the car today and was surprised with the amount of water that was being held between the weatherstripping and the metal. Seeing that, it didn't surprise me that I found a rusted spot as I looked closer. This is just to the right of the latch. That will be addressed to the dealer soon, for sure...

joatmon,I had a talk with Jeff!He said on the paint issue there looking into it, They know theres a problem! On my Gt clutch, he said that if It goes out to contact Nick.So I told him my warranty will be gone in a couple weeks. He then said, Don't worry again contact Nick and I'll get It fixed. He also informed me of a new set of Door moldings, (the little ones that are in the middle of each door) will be coming very soon. And He'll give the new part #'s to nick to post here on the website.I cant wait to buy those. He asked me about my tires, and I told him I had recently bought the new tires because the other ones were junk. he then called one of the engineers over and told him about it. and they started talking about them, I could tell they have a serious issue with them by there conversation. It was almost like that part of it was out of there hands, that was my take on it!I hope that helps you out a little!
