My 1992 Bluebird School bus

Post by Pablo1669 »

So, as many of you might be aware I had to cancel my trip to the Michigan meet (even though it's only a 20 min drive).Anyhow, I've been pretty sketchy as to why I canceled, but finally, here is the reason. 7 of my friends and I bought a 66 passenger school bus, and we are taking it on a 16 day road trip. Now we've done a lot of work on this sucka, but the pictures aren't totally up to date. The last pictures don't show the blue paint added to the exterior scheme, and it doesn't show all the finishing touches on the interior either. More pics will be updated later, as we leave tomorrow morning and don't have a lot of time to update the site, so watch for updates along the way. http://www.ztsigs.com/bus/pics.asp let me know what you think so far... We've got a lot of time poured into this, as I've been there almost every day for the last 3 months working on it after my day job. You audio buffs might notice the 4 6x9's and the 2 12inch subs in the front area, and the JBL 5.1 setup in the back.

That is sweet!! I'm extremely jealous. Unless your headin down 23, which it looks like your taking 69 south west, I don't think your gonna be passing by the meet. You guys should change the route to stop by and show it off. I wanna see it.

whichever roads get us to Atlantic CityWell, I'm out. I probably won't be able to get back here until after my trip unles I get some wireless internet connection along the way...I'll try and swing by the meeting on Saturday, but don't bank on it, because there are 7 other people who prolly won't want to.Leave your comments here about my bus, I enjoy reading them

Hmm...I'd say the parkway, but I don't think you're allowed on there...Trucks or vehicles over 7000 lbs are banned north of exit 105...Best bet would be NJ Turnpike south to Exit 7A (I-195) take that all the way east to the parkway south, will put you on at 99. Take that to the AC expressway...I'm sure you got it planned out though.

ok, so this mobile internet is awesome... thanks to a laptop and verizon wireless, I have the internet anywhere we go, even while driving.Quick update on the trip:spent Sunday night in Boston, partied with a few local ladies that were walking down the beach and saw us on top of the bus drinkin a few beers. That was fun.Partied at the bars in Manhattan, and I got really drunk, OOPS. oh well, I didn't really want that dinner I ate anyway. Right now we're stopped in Connecticut at one of the guys' parents place, and we're grillin some brats up on the deck. listenin to "top tracks" on XM radio.Hope everyone had fun at the Michigan meet, sorry we couldn't swing by.

"...hello world is the song that we're singin', c'mon get happy..." What a cool idea! Cruisin' the east coast in the pimp bus--sweet!Quote, originally posted by Pablo1669 »it wouldn't fit in the back door, we tried.I would have never let that stop me. That's nothing that a sawzall can't fix! If at first it doesn't fit.....get really creative!Have fun and be safe. BTW--who has the bus endorsement on their driver's liscence in your group? That's a LOT of driving for just one person. Getting caught driving one of those in PA without a CDL earns you a $5,000 fine. I'd imagine that most other states frown deeply on it also.

Hey, when you get to Bowling Green, KY, you GOTTA do the Corvette assembly plant tour and the Corvette Museum.

yeah, we have a 27 inch TV and a PS2, and an old school nintendo. we've got a dvd player and a nice JBL 5.1 surround sound setup also. We've got the bus registered and insured under a LLC, limited liability corporaton, so it's basically under all of us as a group. We don't need CDL's because it's registered as an RV, and it doesn't have Air Brakes... trust me, we did the research, we'll be ok.yeah, we definately plan on swinging into the covette museum, as we are mostly all engineers. Also, I forgot to mention that we swung over to see Niagra Falls too, it was cool even though I've seen it like 4 timeslastly, don't drink LOTS of Absinth unless you like tossing your guts on the sidewalks of NYC (as slightly mentioned previously)

inverter while we're moving, and we can either plug in while we're stopped, or run the 3000 watt generator that is mounted underneath
