Another new guy...

Post by MiFrosty517 »

The wife finally broke down and let me buy a Vibe last week. I have been kinda lurking around reading but w/o a Vibe in the driveway I thought I would wait to say "HI".Now I have the Vibe so let me formally introduce myself. I am 32 years young, happily married (wife Patti is also 32) with 2 kids (Alex-6 and Ellie-4). I work as a sales coordinator for a large Jan/San distributor. I originally was looking to buy a Focus Wagon or 4 door Civic but I was not very impressed with those cars. Anyways I saw a Vibe drive by work one day and thought "WOW that looks like a perfect car for us". Little did I know that "wagon" would turn out to be a wolf in sheeps clothing. Unfortunatly we were only able to get a '03 Vibe. I would have loved to get a new one but the price/payment was WAY right on the '03 compared to the '05. I accaully liked the look of the '03 better so having to buy used wasnt quite as bad.Anyhoo now I am trying, with some success, to allow the wife to let me add a few "minor"(YEA RIGHT) mods to my little white wagon. I have already order the reflective overlays and am SERIOUS looking to get an Ingen CAI. I guess my only question to any fellow Michigan Vibe owners on the CAI is..Should I worry too much about all this hydrolock stuff I have been reading?? I also have plans for some lowering springs (prolly gunna go with the Pro-Kit from Eibach) and some form of window tinting for the backs. I was also concidering some brighter headlights, driving lights and back up lights but I am not sure where to find them.I guess all that rambling is my offical "HI" to the genvibe growd.

Think Michigan International Speedway... (The 2 mile NASCAR oval for those who don't follow racing)I live 1 mile from it to the north. So kinda south central I guess.

Just to add my own little note, there are a few who'll arguably state that the '03s are the best of the bunch.. most likely because it's the closest to pure Toyota out of any of 'em.. Of course..I personally have an '03 Anyway, welcome!
