leather interior installation

Post by daltoe »

I am planing to install a leather interior in my Vibe, and have a few questions, can anybody shed some wisdom.1. How do you remove the plastic seat backs from the rear seats?2. How do you remove the plastic seat back (table) from the right front seat?3. How do you remove the padded sections from the front door panels?4. Is this really a do it yourself project?

trdvibe did her leather seats so she should be able to help you when she gets back. i brought her stock fabric in an attempt to make fabric inserts for my rear doors.its a p.i.t.a you have to cut off plastic rivits for the door panel insert and smooth and glue and smooth and glue and hope you get the fabric to lay right.then you have to find someway to glue the two parts of the door back together and hope you dont damage nothing in this process. imho not worth it
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

Is this really a do it yourself project?i did this last summer, so i don't really remember to be honest. it's not that hard, just extremely time consuming. took me one day each for the 2 front seats and then just a few hours for the rear seats... a couple months later. LOLthere are some screws in the rear plastic pieces, if you look in the rail part you should see those. if i remember correctly, i just really started to pry it off... as i confessed in one of the vids after my intake install on mavrik's vibe at the MI meet, i tend to just take things apart first and then try and remember where they go. don't pay much attention to HOW i got it apart. sorry i'm not much help.
