Got attacked by deadly seagull poop scratched my hood trying to clean it off. Plus I have chips in my paint from rocks. Any product ideas or is it better to just get the fixit paint from GM. Thanks for any replies.

Take it from someone that learned the hard way. Get the touchup paint from your dealer.Someone at the Michigan Rally suggested Mother's Paint Chip Repair for evening out the "lumps and bumps" that come from the touch up paint. I've not used it yet but will this weekend. Looks like it should work great though.
I've been using plasti-kote products for a few years and there paint has always matched for me. (I'm the pickist person when it comes to paint)I don't know what color you need, but if it's lava it's part #GM 3867 and the clear is #3701.There paint is very runny which is great for chips. You will need to bye a brush, I perfer size 5/0 which is a very very little brush. I usally apply 3 or 4 coats of color, then 2 coats of clear.make sure each coat is dry to the touch before applying the next coat. The biggest mistake people do is trying to use the brush that comes with the touch up paint. The second mistake is trying to paint it in one heavy coat.Keep your coats very thin, and keep the paint inside the chip.and don't forget to use a dewaxer. When you get good they'll become almost invisable.I also like to use a heat gun, it speed's up the process.
It's a small detailing paint brush, about 1/64" dia. and maybe 1/4" long. It size is 5/0.Trust me when you see the brush, You'll know how to keep it in. LMAOIf anyone needs lesson's just ask, I'll be fixing my own car everyother weekend this summer. (I would bet)
Sorry I forgot to post the pictures.when I'm done I just wipe the brush off with a paper towel, that keeps the brisles stiff.I'll barrow a camera with a macro lense, and do a couple paint chips.Maybe that'll help out!
Could someone please tell me how you post these pictures on the site? I have tried using the "how to" posted last year, but nothing seems to work. Thanks!!
Just wondering, because I have a Lava Vibe as well... I need some touch-up paint and havent had too much luck finding the right color. I found a bright-red looking color for GM vehicles...the bottle says:General MotorsNG GM 398Bright Red81, WA 8774Any clue if that is for the Lava on Vibes??? Thanks
