Yep, gonna install it tomorrow night. Any tips on installing this thing? And I just got back from Virginia for 5 days visiting family, only saw TWO Vibes the whole trip.

I put mine on in April, it's awesome! It helps a lot to open up the plastic inner fender to fit the filter on the end of the pipe. You will need an assistant for this stage. You are going to love it.

Put the air filter in first so you don't have to fight it past the fog lamp later when you try and put it on the end of the pipe. Put it on first then attach the other end at the throttle and your set. I learned that putting mine in twice... well I put it in once and watched it going in the second time.

I can't stress enough to be very careful with that mass airflow sensor on the airbox.

from what I learned when I messed up mine, none were available... one had to be ordered and no location was known. Since I worked at a dealership, they let me take one off the 05 on the lot so I could get on my way to MI meet cause this all happened the morning I was trying to leave.

good luck to you buddy! my advice on the maf is to leave it in the stock tubing until it's time to actually put the car back together again. i had some help from rob (wishminespimp) at the MI meet and we installed mavrik's intake w/o instructions in about 45 mins. pretty easy. i'll be in portland next week, but will be busy w/ my best friend's wedding to do an install. LOL. i'm sure you'll do fine!

I've never done a CAI but I would be careful of 2 things. This holds true for drop in reusable filters also. First is that the Cosmo filter needs to be oiled to do even a decent job of catching dirt and 2nd; when you oil it, don't over do it and let it sit out for a day to get tacky and allow the oil to migrate. An over oiled filter will let oil get sucked the MAF and it will run lean. MAFs can be carefully cleaned with alcohol, contact cleaner or carb cleaner. I haven't found MAFs extremely impact sensitive but be careful. All gauze oiled filters allow a bit more dirt to reach the motor when oiled. Lots more when they're not.

Thanks, ya, I have a K&N filter now and I've cleaned and oiled them several times. And what part of Portland are you gonna be in TRD?

Well, after much trial and error with the awful instructions that had us trying attach parts that didn't exist, we finally got it, sounds great and seems to tach out a little faster above 6000 now, I like it.

You could have followed the install instructions posted here on the board complete with picture directions. I used them to help me where the awsome injen instrutions were vague.
