Just because I try to do something doesn't mean I can do it. I'm not sure the website is set up for a chat. I have contacted the people that can tell me and also set this up. I'm just waiting now. I'll probably have a answer tomorrow.

Once we get some sponsors on board then the chat room will be talked about. Until then it has been put on the back burner.

how about simply putting a java IRC client on here? No other requirements for the webserver...

The chat room idea is good and all but the only bad thing about it is that any useful information in the chat room wouldn't be archived..

I definitely like a chat room idea. I seriously believe that it would cut down on the number of posts because new users could just ask the older ones that are online.Take me for instance:I am a casual Genviber that checks the forums about once a week, sometimes more. When I sign on, I don't always have time or the attention span to read EVERY post that has happened since my last sign on. When this has happened in the past, I ended up creating a forum that already existed. If i could have just hopped on a chat room and asked someone about this, the extra forum wouldn't have been there. Also, sometimes it's good to not have all posts archived. That way, we can all feel free to tell our opinion about certain subjects and have them NOT be saved for future genvibers. We could use the chat room for opinions and questions and leave the forums for FACTS and REFERENCES, which I am assuming they were originally meant to be.If the forums don't necessarily serve as a reference, maybe a new reference section could be made. For example, have a moderator or administrator decide which info users submit should go into the reference page about certain topics. The one I am thinking of in particular is Lancer's CAI install. That is a perfect post and should be able to be easily accessed for all future generations in a read only (no posting) format.TO RECAP:I really think chat rooms and references would clean up the site. Have users visit the chat room first, the forums second, and then information that is deemed important, factual, and timeless by the administrators could be in a reference. Thanks!
