Vibe Horn - Not loud enough - problem?

Post by de387 »

Hi everyone..Has anyone ever changed their horn? The horn that comes with the Vibe is not very loud - almost not as loud as a motorcycle horn or a bicycle. I would like a louder horn. Nothing silly - just a horn like on other cars that you can hear. OR maybe there is just something wrong with it? Thanks!Jeff :-)

Its not as loud as a lot of people would like it seems. Those people changed out their horns for louder ones. Mine though I think is just fine, I don't use my horn to communicate with other motorists, I use hand signals.

It's pretty quick and easy. I didn't go the Hella route just because I had already waited too long and wanted a quick fix (ie. pep boys). The horns I got were the same from a Grand Prix (my old car) and I like the tone. Took me about an hour, only because I had to go back to the store since a connector plug was missing. I was even able to use the existing plug instead of splicing wires....

Adding a low tone horn to the existing horn sounds pretty good...cost $15 from Checker.

I like it too bescause it sounds unique, however if I get upset I don't beep it becuase it doesn't sound very threatening lol. I agree though they are not very loud. I can play my music kind of loud and barely hear it at all.
