Ok I washed my car on saturday evening, didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary but maybe because of the light I didn't see it. However on sunday when I was out with the car at a park for a family get together I noticed a small dent that only the right direction of the light brought it. It was just above the passanger door on the body before the roof. Looked like a little cup could pop it out. However on closer inspection yesterday evening and today, I got like 4-5 of these small dents all the way up the side of the wind shield and above the doors on the driver and passanger side. Some are really small, the others specially the one on the driver's door can really be seen. This worries me because they seem to be appearing out of nowhere. Now the passanger side of my car faces the neighbours house... but why dents just there if they are bouncing balls off my Vibe? Most of the dents are on that side. This pisses me off though, I do not know whats causing them. Any ideas?

Just a thought...I have seen (caused) the type of dent you are describing. In my case it was from slaming gears in a unibody car (z28 camaro) the unibody can't take the torque and flexes. Small wavey dents usually show up on the top of the car first, followed by doors not fitting as well as they used to. Even popped the rear window out once. Another related problem is towing with a unibody, you will need to retorque the hitch fasteners due to body flexing. Were you drivin hard Saturday night?

Its not chipped though, its just a small dent made by an impact of something, say like someone leans on your car and pops in the fender? I'll try and get pics of them today.

She bit me remember? you don't like her.And as promised here are the pictures of the dents done to my car. First pic (gotta love the arrows) is the passanger side, I could only get 3 of the 4 dents to show. The next two pics are of the large one on the driver's side.

Here is another angle of the driver's side dent. I already put out some calls to some dent removal places cause I don't have the tools to unless someone going to the meet has any. Otherwise looks like I am paying for this one but if I catch the little snot doing this their parents will have to get the ball back from the evidence the cops will have collected from the case I'll start for vandalism and property damage.

LOLbut ya, those are very very wierd! and in such odd places... can't imagine what those would be from???
the first 2 pics are hard to tell the dents, but you can def see it on that 3rd pic. i'd be pissed, unless it was the front end, in which case i'd welcome since it's so crapped up right now anyways...
Well they are odd looking and in odd spots to... and I got stone chips on the front now cause I got stuck behind some trucks the other day... so I have a guy coming to fix that up and put a protective cover over my hood...

LOL. well i gave up on mine. not after having to drive all over the place... it just doesn't matter much now. front lower bumpers screwed, rock chips all over the damn thing... maybe when i get a body kit... if they ever make one and if i'll be able to afford one at that point, i'll have the body shop repaint the whole front end and get the protective film too. but then again, it's a car. i've spent far too much on it and don't want to spend much more. too many more important things to spend my hard earned money from long grueling hours of (removed) kissing to keep dumping it into the car... but you already know where my money's going to now. all this traveling back and forth is expensive
You're not the only one with those. I have one I discovered just above the driver door, and two smaller ones above the driver door handle.. NO idea how they got there..but stress comes to mind..

Like body stress flexing and causing ripples on its surface? I had that thought cross my mind but I can't figure out how and VERY VERY REMOTELY UNLIKELY GM would cover it.

Thats a ball or someone doesn't like you. It could have been a couple jerks in a parking lot. It's too bad you don't know when it happened.

I hate those dang "dent fairies"! You leave your car, come out and it looks like a freakin' golfball! I'm trying to teach my wife to walk a little more and park further away. Those are definitely strange. I would guess neighboorhood kids and their darn fun and games...
As I posted earlier these dents could be caused by unibody flex, either hard driving, jacking with floor jack (this gets alot of Nissan 280zx owners) or hitting bumps/dips too hard. If I jacked up my 280z using a floorjack under just one side forward of the door, it would flex so bad that neither door would open/close correctly.

It sure looks like a hard baseball caused the dents or someone deliberatly hit your car with something, like a base ball bat.I'm hoping its vandalism cause I can always fix the dents at my expense and hope none of them come back. If its a flex in the body (and I do not drive this car hard) if I fix them, who's to say they won't come back?

Did anything happen at the meet regarding these dents? Did you show them to the GM people?

I tried to but couldn't get one of them to come look, everytime I looked for them, I couldn't find them and when I did they were with someone. But since they read this forum, hopefully they have read this and at least know about it. I noticed ripples in other Vibes and took pics, even the 05 one on display they had with the supercharger had a ripple, I took a pic of it to but they are so faint that I don't think they came out...But why fix what we don't know can be corrected and prevented from returning? I'm leaving it for now.

ya, phil, after looking at your dents and then others, i think they would just come back after you got it fixed. noticed them on the sema vibes too. ooohhh sema vibes
