In my 04 Vibe owner's manual, it talks about 6 CD changer stereo having "Auto Volumn" feature. "Auto Volume" is a feature that increases volume output as you pick up speed. This compensates for the road noise.I could not figure out where this control is on my stereo. I am thinking it is a mistake in the manual. Does anyone actually have and used this feature?
well i looked in mine for my 03 and it doesn't say it has it. must be available in the 04+ and not the 03. i like it. have it the folks' impala and gmc truck

I read the instruction, but cannot find the button to turn it on.
Check the attached image, the button is in the yellow rectangle. It looks like it's in the lower right corner of the radio.According to the 2004 Vibe Owner's Manual, the button is labeled AUTO VOL -- each time you press it you can activate the different levels of loudness you prefer (MIN, MED, MAX, OFF).Good luck and let us know.
NSimkins, thanks for posting the picture.I just went out to my car to check. Guess what?! Mine reads RCL and not AUTO VOL on the bottom right button. No wonder I couldn't find it.I think they put 03 stereo on my 04. Wonder if I can demand GM change my stereo...
In the manual, does it say "(Optional)" next to this feature? IIRC, you got the SCV feature in my sunfire only if you got the premium sound system...otherwise, you got a standard radio. BUt I could be wrong.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
It does not say "Optional" It listed it as a feature under 6-CD stereo.I called Pontiac, and they couldn't figure it our over the phone. They suggested that I take it to a dealer.I will have a dealer look at it when I take my Vibe in to get some rattles fixed.

Yes it is a mistake in the owners manual. In past threads it had been determined that the Vibe electrical system is different the the mainstream Pontiac offerings. This effects several audio features, so they are not available or inoperative. One is the theftlock feature, the other would be the speed compensated volume (SCV) feature. On the Vibe radios, both the single CD and the 6 Disc, the SCV/Auto Vol function is replaced by the recall (RCL) function.

Can all the people with 2004 6-CD changer check your stereo to see the bottom right button is the AUTO VOL button?
The only reason I can think of off the top of my head would be that they used up some remaining 2003 model radios in the 2004 models during the beginning of the cycle. Either way, if I bought a 2004 Vibe with a 6-disk head unit, I would expect to have this feature if it's supposed to have it.Hopefully we can get feedback from more 2004 Vibe/6-disk in-dash CD owners.

After the movies last night, took a walk through a nearby dealers lot. 2004 Vibe w/6 Disc had a recall button not the auto volume button. All the 2004 and 2005 single disc radios also had recall.

Mavrik, you say you have this button on yours? I'm curious.

It probably messes with the Temp too, right? That's what my "Auto Volume control" does (Today's my 3 year aniversary!!!)

Just wanted to throw in my feedback...I have the 04 without m&t, single disc, and I have the SCV button. Have the same button on my Aztek and that only has a single disc too.
