How does shadow look

Post by pimpingnu »

Hey i want to order a shadow VIBE. All the pictures of it rock and i love the color however, the dealer said it comes more brown/tan than grey. Does anyone have one that can let me know? I wanted shadow because i figured i would get the protection of the plastic from rock salt and not have that 2 tone look.
- Andrew Schmidt I ordered a base shadow 2 tone vibe with power, DVD nav system, bumper proteter, automatic, floor mats, snowboard rack, the black interior, the gt badges to stick on(he he he), car alarm system, ABS, side impact airbags, the "B" rims from the VIBE brochure, and i am looking at tints now. If you don't want the grey plastic get the monotone paint option. The whole vehicle will be the same color.

O I know, but here they throw rock salt on the roads and it rips on paint. That is why i like the plastic clading. i was wondering if the shadow was more brown than grey, the dealer told me it was(they dident have one in). Is it about the same shade as the molding?

I have a shadow Vibe GT. To me it looks very similar to the cladding color. I have a link to a good picture of it below (and can send you more if you need) so you can check it out for yourself. http://homepage.mac.com/wmill/.Pictures ... 000256.jpg

It is definitely my favorite color. It does take on a slightly brownish hue in direct sunlight, but it still blends very well with the plastic cladding. I think you'll be very happy with your choice. Congrats on your purchase!

Just saw a Shadow monotone Vibe today on the lot. (I don't know why but it seems that all the car dealers in my area only get the montone Vibes. I am really curious to see one in person with the cladding on the bottom!) The Shadow color is cool, it is a very unique color. It does look very brown at first glance. In my opinion, it is not as dark in person as it looks in the back page of the Vibe brochure. I think the monotone paint job on the cladding was terrible though. I had thought I would order a Shadow Vibe, but after seeing it in person, I think I am going to go for the Satellite instead.

No, the Shadow Vibe I saw was definately the monotone. From Millster's comments about how the cladding and Shadow colors look very close naturally, I was surprised that the car I saw actually has the $500 extra option to have the monotone!

If you're still looking for opinions, I just picked up my Vibe this weekend and it's Shadow two-tone. The color is definitely not brownish. The dealer may have been thinking of that muddy metallic color they put on the Grand Am; it's definitely not that. It's more like a warm gunmetal gray metallic...very nice. Here's a link to some pics of my car: http://www.bjrowan.com/home/vibepics1.htm

Hi Andrew,Yep I do live on Hess Rd. Feel free to stop and check it out if you like.Do you like dealing with Mike Smith? I was not real impressed with them this time. I have bought 2 cars from them now and they just don't seem willing to work with you at all. They also don't return phone calls. I don't intend to give them a very good review when I fill out the questionaire.

Yea... i ordered my car the 9th. Who do you talk to. try to get someone who has been there for A wile... some of the new dealers suck. I alawys deal with Mr. Bugsby, he is a freind of a freind. i have neaver been screwed. if you show up insted of calling they will work with you, the way their program is set it its more effective that way. remember your dealer only sells you the car, someone in the other departments helps you fix problems. again i havent had a hassle... in the 2 or 3 times we bought cars there. n e way i ordered shadow monotone every option cept the 17 rims cuz i think they look ugly.. i got the dvd nav sys because i will be adding my own systemlater so i dont care about the upgrade for the stero. i plan on tinting it and gettin the vibe badging overlays right away then when winter comes getting a snowboard rack. after that maby a dash kit. who knows... ttyl VIBE IN SEPT!

It ended up costing me $18,000 with all options included. My mother works for GM so i get the GM employee discount. It takes a huge percentage off the price. After this the price is non-negosible pretty much. there were a few things i got. Maby the rebate will go up by the time my car comes in! YEY
