Hello, I'm new! And you are... ??

Post by AJ_'04 Vibe »

LOL Hello everyone. My name is AJ. My wife (Danelle) and I just bought our '04 Salsa flavored Vibe last Saturday (June 12) and We Love It!!!I thought it'd be a good idea to introduce ourselves and tell you all a little about our lives.Did I mention we LOVE the Vibe? It rides great, handles well, has great features, and gets great MPG. Perfect for us since we're parents of a 5 yr old boy (Trace. June 23rd is his 5th year anniversary), home-owners, members of a car club, both work more than 30 miles from home, have expensive hobbies that require buying big stuff (like toys for our son), and we both HATE spending a lot of money for gasoline!!!The Vibe is only the second "New Car" we've ever had. Somehow we've managed to avoid car payments for the last 5 yrs, but it became necessary for us to take the dive and buy a new car. I just got a new job last month ~50 miles from home and needed something reliable and great on gas. Well... we found it. Just to give you all an idea of our automotive status...The Vibe is vehicle #5 for us. And I don't mean we've owned 5 vehicles since we've been married. This makes the 5th vehicle we own RIGHT NOW!!! (riding lawn mower not included). We have (in chronological order of purchase since 2000)....1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS, 5.0L V8 (305 cid), 4 spd auto, purple w/t-tops, and 196K miles on the clock -- My former daily driver.1983 Chevrolet C-10 Scottsdale 1/2 ton, 2wd pick-up, 305 V8, tan/white 4 spd manual trans, milage unknown -- Grunt vehicle.1993 Mazda MX-6 LS, 2.5L V6, 5 spd manual, red w/ black leather, Enkei RS5 17" wheels, silver vinyl flames, and 199K miles on the clock -- Wife's daily driver. And finally, a 1971 Chevrolet Camaro, 350 V8 w/ 3 spd auto, blue w/ black cloth interior, milage unknown -- Totally for fun and cruising. As you can see, we have only one car that is somewhat good on gas (MX-6), but even so, it has nearly 200K miles on it. Surprisingly, the '92 Camaro is getting ~26 MPG (*highway only*) last I checked, and the Mazda is getting 28 MPG (*highway only*). Not too shabby, but still... I can't take the chance of trying to go to work and neither of them starting. Our livelyhood depends on my job.Anywho... enough about us. I just wanted to give you all a feel of who we are and what we have. We are both 100% car enthusiasts, as if you couldn't tell. Soon the '92 Camaro will be parted out. Some of the parts will be going into/onto my '71 Camaro, and the others will be hitting Evil-bay. We eventually plan on modifying the Vibe here and there, but our house is our main priority right now. Once that's taken care of, the '71 Camaro is next on the list. Regardless, we look forward to chatting with all of you as well as sharing ideas and helping solve any problems any of you have with your lives and/or cars.Good day and Godspeed,AJ, Danelle & Trace

Welcome again!Yeah, other than small political battles (though that's under control now) we tend to keep each other civil! We're a good spot for info, and a great place to share info, as well as the general chatting! If you have any questions about anything, feel free to search, and if you can't find it, ask! Sometimes the search function doesn't pick up on everything, but guaranteed someone'll remember the relevant thread, and offer it right up!
