Hey guys. I'm planning to mount a 12" RAM Flex post to hold a Garmin IQue. I've got the mounting rig from GPS City (great source for car mounts of all sorts). Has anyone drilled into the 'hump' that the cat converter travels through? It's right where the floor on the passenger side meets the section where the shift lever is located. I've looked under the body and the clearance between the cat converter shield is about 1/2 inch. Just trying to avoid drilling into any electrical or other critical system. Thanks for any thoughts.

Thanks. I got impatient and did all that. Pulled the carpet, reached around found the various routings for seatbelt sensors and some other assorted stuff. -actually, the seatbelt sensor is the only thing running on the passenger side of the 'hump'.- I then took a deep breath, fired up the drill and went in! Used the shortest screws that wouid get a hold and so far...so good. And BTW, You are correct sir, I meant to say the 'heat shield' is about 1/2-3/4" away from the body. The exhaust is another 3/4" or so from the shield. I'll try to post some pix when the install is all dialed!!
