My new custom front cover

Post by Devlop »

Well, I finished my front cover a couple of days ago. I cut out some parts of the lower half and molded it out the make it smooth. I also had to cut the front bar and absorber as they were showing after I modded the cover.I also added a little touch to my taillamps. Let me know what you guys think. Here are some pics:

The front cover looks great. You have an intercooler behind that, right? Very cool!!!The tails look really clean...I'm still trying to decide if I like the look, though.Keep up the good work! Your Vibe is truly one-of-a-kind!!!

the cover... the jury's still out on the tails. not so sure on those. i'm planning to red mine out. all red (goes w/ my color scheme)but if you look closely on my sig, you can see i kinda chopped the lower grill and put a billet grill like the one's i have on the top.

ok, here's a close up (sorry kinda blurry since i had to blow it up) of the sig pic. this is what i was planning on doing. then moving my fogs to BEHIND the lower grills, placed similar to the trix. maybe put grills over the holes where the fogs are at currently. besides, my cai is right behind that fog housing so it'd be kinda cool to have it behind a grill so more air can get in.

That would be cool, the only thing I would be concerned about is rain hitting the filter if you take out the fog light. I'm just wondering if that would be too much water soaking into the filter. Definitely would look custom though. I know people look at my car and wonder what I did to it because it is so subtle.

Looks very nice Devlop. Looks customized, but without overdoing it. Sweet!

I don't see the difference between your front end and a stock front end (other than the grills). How did you do the tails. Is that "Chrome Tape" like you can get from walmart or what? dude seriously what you need to do is get a bigger intercooler.(bar and plates look sweet) a little longer mabey shorter but enough to where you cant see the end tanks. and push it as close to the bumper as possible. supra style(or apexi evos wrx silvias etc) i know you know what im talking about.your car would look WICKED.ive seen it in my dreams but it was spoused to be my car. as it is i can barely see the intercooler in those pics .p.s youll probably have to take out the foglights but you know that already and while were on the subject neon srt-4 and evo 8 fast cars but ugly with uglier intercoolers. dont be like them!!evo8 have evo7 body kits sweet, even chevy colorados have body kits sweet. our poor vibe, you have to represent .make custom fog light covers like on the wrxs with frontmounts
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

Yeah, the change wasn't drastic. I just opened up the lower portion more. I cut out the center and the upper part of the lower cover. Take a second look and look at your car, you'll see it. The taillamps were taped off and painted when I had my front end repainted. As for the intercooler, this is the best design because longer intercoolers tend to lose boost whereas mine is better designed to hold boost. That's a lot of money and work just for looks. Also, I haven't decided if I want to show of the ic anyways because I like the sleeper look. I'm torn though because I do love the look of a nice polished ic showing thru the grille of a car.

devlop, i'd make a custom grill to cover that IC. cause i think the sleeper look goes well for the vibe... don't want to give it up just at the first sight! btw, i think you've def got the hottest vibe out... smooth, classy... no rice! (unlike mine )

Actually, I'm in the works for a grille. I bought a universal one made of aluminum that has the same pattern as stock. I should have it done here in a week or so, just gotta find the time. Here's a pic of the ic:

did you splice that lower portion of the lower grill to the bottom of the top where the plates would be?

grill smill , nothing beats the intimidation factor of a big honking intercooler right in front.but if your not going to do it that leaves the option open for me.

the lower grill has the upper lip where the middle connects to. on mine, that part broke from where it joined. this is why i was planning on just removing that center portion in the first place. but then you have that seam there under the plates. looking at the 05 and yours, it appears they connected that 1" piece together so it is seamless. does that make better sense now?

Yeah, the 05's have a one piece front cover. And yes, I cut out both the center piece and the upper piece that runs across the top of the lower grilles. Thanks for clarifying.
