CryO2 System...?

Post by rsgriff115 »

I have seen multiple advertisments for a CO2 based cooling system by DEI that cools the intake charge, intercoolers and fuel lines through "heat sinks". It does not directly inject CO2 into the engine though, just chills the air and fuel. I was wondering if anyone here has seen this in an actual car or has even heard of this before. Their website, http://www.designengineering.com claims a 9% increase (on a 110 hp engine) in a honda civic with only the intake cooling kit on. That system (basic install kit with 5lb bottle and intake kit) costs about as much as a good nitrous system. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this product, or used it or think it is even worth it.

ive seen the intercooler one on a couple of turbo cars you could technically use all three parts together. (intake, fuel, intercooler) co2 is cheap but water is cheaper id get an intercooler water sprayer. for n/a car just get nitrous(like me)more bang for you buck.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

It looks plausible for forced induction cars with an inter/aftercooler. I don't know if it is worth the cash though, because i don't know any places that have liquid CO2.

That company will not be around for long. I smell copyright infringement with DEI Dale Earnhardt Inc.

Any local bottling depot for Coke or Pepsi can also sell you CO2. Btw this system works like a friggen charm. We sell quite a few a year through the company I work for, for n/a cars. DEI is well known in the drag racing industry for products to protect engine parts from heat, their Rad Relief we can barely keep in stock for our local drag racing teams. Very good quality stuff!!

Hmmm..I was curious about this Co2 cooling aswell..I wonder how this really works in a real world application. Cooler air means more power rt? but how much? and how does this affect 1zz motor?

How much does the kit weigh? You might be better off re-routing the windshield washer lines to point at your intercooler.
