Since no one answered me before. Ill ask again: are these the ones that would mount towards the center of the grill, towards where the pontiac symbol is?

However, since Mike didn't get a picture of the lights when he ordered them, he left us all kinda in suspense. I believe he's not sure where he's going to mount them until he sees the mounting hardware that comes with them. Some possible locations are that, in the upper grill. In the lower grill. I think he mentioned potentially behind the lower grill, as well. There are many different types of "aux" lights, Not sure if he got driving or fog (the beams are different, driving is narrower than fog), so that'll also determine where he'll mount 'em.

for those that want to fabricate something you can mount small lights behind the top grill pieces because there is enough room between it and the rad.

Ok. Here goes.Quote, originally posted by elrodvoss »Since no one answered me before. No. These are not those kinda lights. They will be hidden from view (or at least not in plain sight of the boys in blue), and will likely be mounted behind a grille.Quote, originally posted by Jahntassa »That is one of the possible positions. I bought them on closeout. And I bought several different sets, because I had trouble deciding WHICH ones to get. I actually have 4 different sets coming to me, and I'm going to pick one and sell off the rest. THey are all driving lights though, I wanted a narrower more concentrated beam than a fog would provide.Anyway, the current plan is to mount them behind the lower grilles...but as you said, 'tis all dependent on what is entailed in that process.Quote, originally posted by Mavrik »for those that want to fabricate something you can mount small lights behind the top grill pieces because there is enough room between it and the rad.True. But (A) that location is too high off the road IMHO (thought it might look cool), but more importantly, the hellas are already there.

Well the reason I asked, is I could have sworn that I saw someone place light (think fog set). That would give you a total of 3 sets. But they were place in the center of the front of the car. On the ourside of grill. If I knew the post, I would link it. But I liked the look. When I saw this posting, I though he was going to do that.

Well it wasent the exact picture. But ya...same idea. The pic that I saw was a head on view of the front and I think thje lights were all the way towards the center of the car. (I think your lights are more centered on the grill)How do you have those lights tied in? U have them hooked up through the main lights or through the fogs?Oh and thanks for the pic. It gives me something to show when I want it done.

I originally installed them when I started using a backroad all the way from my school back home to work for the weekend and then back to school again on monday night. I put them on last fall as the day got short and i found myself on the backroad in the dark and w/ it being winding and the possibility of deer i wanted some better vision. They were intended to be temporary for the winter season....although I still havent taken them off and i dont know if i will.Being that they were supposed to be temporary I didn't even bother to wire them into the cabin...the wire for the switch that was included was too short to go through into the cabin so i just mounted it under the hood. The lights themselves I mounted each bracket w/ 3 heavy-strength black zip ties The end result was a very very solid mount but something that could be pulled out in 5 minutes when summer came around. I only used them for the backroad driving as there was no need for extra lighting around towns or such so lifting the hood to turn them on for a 3hour drive was no sweat. The are still really solid and are not really in my way so until something changes i'll probably just leave them on the car. By the way they are made by Optronics and I believe JCwhitney sells them....I upgraded the bulbs to a higher wattage and they really light up the dark road at night.....especially w/ the other lights on the car at the same time

yes, that's what i want to do w/ mine. move them from where they are (factory location) to somewhat like the trix location but BEHIND the grill. but i want the new 05 lower front fascia instead of my 03. i believe it will fit. place a billet grill over the top, in front of the newly located a/m fogs i have now, then take the extra grill pieces and put them in front of the holes where the fogs are currently.... but that wuld be a project much later down the road! when i have time and money. oh well.

i keep looking for that stupid gutter guard stuff... and all i can find is the cheap rice-like mesh. saw on mo.com a guy took the billet grills for the trix and then used a dremel tool to make up some custom ones in the side vents. turned out very cool. so it got me thinking back to what i was going to originally do w/ my busted bumper. the more i look at the 05 lower front fascia (not top) i like it. and i think you could easily mount the a/m fogs inset and behind the grills.
