Well , Come on all you cat lovers . Garfield has his first big screen movie ---and I CAN'T WAIT.Jim Davis the author of the Garfield comic strip is a true genius---Why--- Because I read he grew up with a house of 17 cats. I always love the Garfield comic and sometimes I can compare Garfield to Miss Bootsie --(My Cat) and I get such a laugh. So on June 11th I'll go see the Garfield movie----------and I'll bet you will too.............. James (Vibe)
i wanna see that too! i used to love garfield when i was young. i even still have my autographed pics from jim davis when i was in 4th grade! (the original creator/artist)
i used to watch that show! LOLi loved garfield... had posters, movies, cartoons, drew him and odie all the time. made up my own cartoons off him too. and then they came out w/ the farm animals, the pig. i forget his name, but i liked him too. it was like orson or something goofy like that.
This movie is an insult to all Garfield is and was.The CGI cat looks NOTHING like Garfield. The dog playing odie looks nothing like odie. And the voice is all wrong!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
i agree with raging, it looks dumb. kind of like scooby-doo dumb. i used to love garfield and friends, i always watched it in the mornings when i stayed the night at my grandmas!

And the voice is all wrong!I agree...in the previews I've seen, Garfield has waaaaaay too much energy and doesn't even look anything like the original. One preview shows Garfield dancing with sunglasses, Garfield would NEVER dance. And even if he did, it most certanly wouldn't be with that much enthusiasim.Just my opinion, to each his own.

But this Garfield (as previously stated) doesn't look like Garfield. Odie is a friggin terrier, and the voice isn't the same as the cartoons. What ever happened to garfield sleeping being lazy and eating lasagna? That is why I won't see it, even when it's on cable or DVD.

that's what im sayin'. i tried to watch scoobydoo and i only made it a couple minutes and had to change it. they should leave all the new age tech crap out of classic cartoons. if anything they should have done it like toy story or shrek.

Bill Murray is doing the voice...which looks good on paper. But....having endured the preview in the theatre last weekend (before watching Harry Potter.. of all things), I am certain I won't be sitting through this over-hyper version. And, I'm a little insulted that Odie wasn't CG'd too.
They could have found something a little closer, true. But, I've never heard another actors voice that is even close to Lorenzo Music's voice. It'd be like trying to find someone other than James Earl Jones to do the voice of Darth Vader, IMO.

Bill Murray's voice would work if he used the proper amount of excitement. The original Garfield never sounded excited, but Bill Murray's version is waaaaaaay too excited and hyper.

If anyone sees it ...please report back as to how hot Jennifer Love Hewitt looks in the movie.....that is the only possible reason I could see for going to see it!.....the only Garfield movie I'd want to see is "Garfield vs Marmaduke: A battle to the Death".....(I hate both of them...)
