My Vibe got hit!!!!

Ahh im pissed!! I went out to my car to go to the store and I look at my drivers side mirror to merge on to the steet to make sure no cars behind me when I notice a broken mirror!!! I get out and see little scratches from the passenger door leading to the mirror. On closer incpection the scratches are what appear to be from a bicycle's handle bars. There are a lot of people that ride bikes by the house so thats how im guessing thats what they are from. I rubed the scrach and a black film came off so no scratches to the pait just the rubber from the handle bars Im guessing. Then right before my mirror there is a dent the size of a penny or so right before the slot where the window slides down and then leads to the broken mirror. Apperently it was hit hard cause the motor wont move I can hear it when I try to adjust it but it wont move. Also the frame where the mirror goes was pulled from the body itself. Not all the way off but you can see a gap... AAAAAHHHHWWW!!!!!!!! Well now I feel better. See how much this will cost to fix!

Sorry to hear about the misfortune. It's really too bad that someone could hit your car like that and just leave. Hopefully the repairs won't be too much.

Wonder if this is covered by what I believe is called "comphrehensive" on your auto policy. Same as that which covers glass or if you hit a deer. While my insurance is $500 ded for collision, it is only $50 ded on the comphrehensive. Some years ago this happened to me but fortunately I found out who did it and their homeoweners liability paid.

Who do u have 4 insurance? In TX we had a bad thunderstorm and looks like a tree branch went throught the quarter glass;insurance ded 500 so we had to pay 250 to get the window replaced...no help from insurance on this and they do not offer full glass.

Almost,the same thing happened with my old car(ford taurus) the conductor side mirror have gone,a guy tell that a fast bicycle driver went to close of the car and went almost to fall when he head directly to the side mirror and grush the part.I don't know what happened to the moron,when i arrive the mirror was missing.

NacolAnt94 - my insurance is Safeco. One time a garage door spring let loose and damaged my hood and broke the windshield. It was on the $50 comphrehensive coverage, not the $500 ded collision. I am sure that on my policy the comphrehensive covers thionks like storm damage including a tree branch falling or hail but you might have a $250 ded on that - my $50 ded is not very expensive so I never changed it to a higher ded as I did with the collision.
