TRD parts

Post by noginsk »

Does anyone have any TRD parts installed in their car? Where did you get them? Anyone know of a website that lists them with prices?

oh hey, sorry. didn't see this. i'm at work too so i don't have my list of places i buy my parts from. but yes, ebay is one good source. but carson toyota in irvine, CA is a good place, romania toyota in oregon, and conicelli parts center somewhere on the east coast is another good one. all of them sell a lot on ebay too. don't have the links to give you tho, sorry. warning: if you put teh trd cai on your vibe GT, it will most likely throw your CEL. i fixed this w/ the unichip... no more CEL and i'm a very happy camper! i got my TRD stb from one of the members who sold his vibe for half of list. TRD springs bought second hand from a guy off matrixvibe.net in the for sale forum... etc. nothing wrong w/ getting used parts too because you will pay more for the TRD name. however, i don't have any exhaust system as of yet... but the magnaflow seems to be the best one for performance and gains. i'm hoping to hold out for a catback dual exhaust system with straight pipes out the rear... and a body kit or some custom work to allow for the dual exit.hope that helps you out.

How could I forget about trdvibe? I should have just asked you in the first place. I am pricing some springs and am feeling that going with trd will give me the best quality because it is a company that works with Toyota, right? I also read somewhere that the springs are progressive rate springs too. Am I right with this? Hey, and if you find out any links, let me know, thanks again!

The TRD springs are made by Eibach and are the same as the Pro-Kit. Drop is about 1¼" front and back. The front springs are progressive. I think retail on them is about $300. If you really want that style, you might do better to get the Eibach Pro-Kit instead. Retail is around $230, but can be had for a lot less.

Thanks Hope and Z............ whatever that name was, I will be getting some soon. For around 200-250, that seems good to me. I can't afford the supercharger, full exhaust, or new wheels yet. So, I think I am finally going to plunge with my first modified part, some springs. I shouldn't have a problem with bottoming out beacuse they will be a stronger spring, right? That is kind of what led me to go for it was when I read that they were progressive. Without progressive in the rear, that will be fine too, right?

Hope,Be sure to check out the Magnaflow thread http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9997because there is a recent posting that links to a picture of a Magnaflow exhaust with dual exhaust pipes out of the muffler for the Matrix XRS & Vibe GT. Not sure it's the genuine Vibe article, but it might be worth checking out.Of course, you'll have to remove those pricey Wal-Mart 'duals' you probably already installed! LOL

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
