Vibe 15K Service

Post by ken »

My Vibe is approaching the 15k mark. Has anyone taken their Vibe in to the Dealer for the 15,000 miles service? Dealer wants $200 for this service. Anyone knows what they actually do on the car? I'm reluctant to take it in if all they do is change the oil and rotate the tires, but, at the same time, I don't want to void the warranty by not having this service done.Ken.

Ken, check you owner's manual for the recommended service items. Depends on mileage schedule and usages.

Just to cover yourself, make sure you know exactly what they do for the 15k service then do a little math to determine if it's a $200 oil change or if you actually get value for your $200. Don't be afraid to question your dealer to see what they're doing and why!

I dunno. I think 15k is too early for anything to go wrong with a car. Look at the list of what is done for the 200 bucks. Most of it will be check this and check that, which you can do yourself. I had a new Suzuki once and the dealer sent me a little booklet that listed all the service I should have done to the car. It was called 'Planned Service'. I called it 'Planned Prosperity' for the dealer, and I told them that. I left the booklet on the counter and walked out. I'm certain I would've ended up paying more for service that what the car cost to buy. They can't make you do those things and they wouldn't dare voiding your warranty.
