If the Mazda 3 had been out when I went car shopping I probably would have bought it. Personally I would prefer the Mazda 6 with a V6, black and tinted sweet looking car.

I actually just test drove all of the Mazda 3's (the S Sedan, I Sedan, and S Wagon) last Saturday. After seeing all of the commercials and reading several positive reviews, I was stoked about actually getting one. None of the the 3's impressed me. The handling was subpar in comparison to the Elantra or even a new Civic, and the power just isn't there for something that supposedly has 160hp. It feels like it's creeping off the line, and you don't feel any real torque until at least 5k rpm. And this was with the S model...the 2.0L found in the base trim package is worse than a Kia Spectra. Like other people have said though, that Mazda 6 is something to write home about.
