Short Shifters

Post by 03Vibrator »

Does anyone have any info on short shifters and theyre purpose. Iknow they are to shift quicker but would it help out on the problem people are having with shifting? I have a 03 GT and ive raced a stock civic and both times I raced it I couldnt find third gear. Also if anyone out there has any websites where I can purchose one let me know. I also heard there expensive, is it worth getting one?

They are only like 30 bucks too!

trd makes a short shifter.it reduces the length length of your shift. i.e if 2nd gear is 4 inches down from 1st and the shifter decrease the throw by 50 percent it will now take 2 inches ,supposedly the less distance you have to move the shifter the quicker the actual shift. however if your having trouble finding gears i dont think a short shifter will help that much, i think you just need to practice more.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

since this is your first post i should mention that the trd one is for the toyota matrix xrs which is the same car as the gt except for exterior. http://www.partznet.com might have them or do a search for trd matrix parts.

you want to make the vibe shift travel shorter?? compared to my VW (which was like rowing a boat when it came to shifting) i'm still getting used to the short shift in my vibe!!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

Third should be easiest on that tranny. Mine is very easy. I would have it looked and aligned or if you feel it's ok than don't steer the shifter and just push to the general direction and let the centering spring guide it in.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
