ghbourhood mice also seem to like our Vibe. I have trapped two, but really don't like going around with a mouse trap in my car. And I certainly don't like finding their little presents all over my seats and in my cup holder in the morning. I wonder if they are enjoying nibbling on some wiring? I have heard from two Toyota owners that they had mice chew through their wiring, so I am wondering if there is a link and a similar design problem?Anyone else with this problem? 2003 Vibe AWD
Wow, I wonder how they gained access to the inside? The only thing I can imagine is possibly through the fresh air vents, or maybe some of the drainlines under the body. You should probably check all of the gaskets around the doors, hatch, and moonroof to make sure they're intact as well. I'll assume you keep the doors and windows closed when it's unoccupied.Other than the unpleasant mess to clean up, mice are capable of carrying diseases as well. Field mice can carry the Hanta Virus which can become airborne when droppings are disturbed. That's why it's recommended that they be picked up with a wet towel instead of vaccuming or sweeping.http://www.explorenorth.com/li...a.htmI used to have mice problems in the engine bay of my Dodge Shadow for years when I parked outside, but they never got inside the car.Do you park your Vibe outside or in an enclosed garage?

we had a mouse or something living in between the runners of the intake on my wife's old sunbird. it chewed the positve wire on the altenator. not a good thing! it almost fried the computer.

If they do some damage, insurance usually covers it.I have fixed problems from hungry mice, rats, squirrels, rabbits, and even a groundhog once.I hear the mice don't like moth balls(not that I blame them)I have some customers that hang little bags of them under the hood and swear by them.Cheap enough idea to try...Might look in your air cleaner box too, they tend to store food there.Even more so if you park in a garage with dog food stored in it.I've seen them chock full of kibbles n bits!
Quote, originally posted by cdFxer »"Just One Bite" or better yet, the FS brand bait. Works wonders. If this is a type of poison, I wouldn't be terribly thrilled about it. Imagine a mouse eating the posion bait and crawling into the Vibe to die. Yuck.

And why is it they always die in the blower motor?of all places, they find the one that stinks you out the most.Thats why I mentioned the moth balls,to deter them from staying, not kill them...
Sometimes keeping a bar of irish spring in your car works. I know when my father puts his miata in storage, he always puts a bar of irish spring in a few places, and he's never had problems. And that in a garage that used to be a barn. I'm not sure why it works, but it does.
