I got a Omega after market alarm installed by my dealer. Occasionally the alarm will not respond to the keyless entry. When this happens I can not turn off the alarm because the Omega alarm asks for a "Easy Valet Switch" that the Vibe doesn't have and my alarm isn't an OEM alarm so the Vibe manual is useless. Any advice?
Welcome to Genvibe!Make the dealer fix it, or remove it and give you your money back! There is a Toyota 'alarm upgrade' for the Matrix that MIGHT work on the Vibe.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=10298I don't know if GM offers the same type of upgrade.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
It's possibly taped up under the dash, mounted under the dash, or not installed. The installer should've pointed out the valet/programming switch before you took the car. It's possible he never put it in in the first place.

You found the website!!!I spent 30 minutes looking for the Omega sight. We'll I tried to call the dealer and he no longer works there.I am going to try and find the switch and if I can't find it, get a new alarm. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help
Check behind the compartment that is located to the left of the steering column. Open up the compartment, and with a small amount of force pull the compartment out of the dash, it just slides back in, there is a lot of room back there, it could be located there.

I have a Rattler remote start system and have been completely satisified with it.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Any advice?First off, check right under the lip of the front dash faceplate by the steering column. There should be a little box with a little knob and a bunch wires going into it. That is your sensetivity sensor adjustment (the little knob) and also where the wire harness plugs into the alarm to power it. Make sure that is plugged in solidly. Second - there is absolutely no way your alarm does not have a valet switch installed in your car. What if you lost the remote entry, or the batteries went dead? You would HAVE to have a way to shut it off. My valet switch is installed where the front left runner runs into the beginning of the front dash at the bottom. Basically, if you were looking directly at your speaker in the left door, it would be 3 or 4 inches to the right of it. If it's not there, it should be close. To turn mine off I have to put the key in the ignition and turn to on and within 10 seconds hold down the valet switch until my indicator light goes solid.Call your dealer and ask for the name and company that installed your alarm for you. Then call them. That is what I did when my sensetivity was way too high and anything and everything would set off my alarm.

Dude - your dealership where you bought the car ALWAYS works with one company for certain things. In other words, just because the actual guy who sold you your car isn't there doesn't mean life as we know it stops. Call the dealership and ask them the name of the company that they use to install alarms. Mention the timeframe when you bought your car in case they switched shops.

I'm an authorized Omega dealer. the valet switch will plug into the side of the headunit of the alarm. if the installer didn't include it, thats his bad the valet switch is modular and can be added later...simply look up under the dash (driver side) and locate the alarm brain. you may find the valet switch bundled up and taped close (some installers do this)....otherwise hit an Omega dealer and have them install one....b

Okay, I talked to the dealership and he can't find out who installed it. I bought the car from a Fleet service and it was installed by someone other than the acutal dealershipt and the people they use. My actual dealer is no longer with the company and a big douche bag. HamiltonAudio, what would be the best way to get to the brain. By removing the plate that has the status LED or by getting inside the dash. If it is the later (and I hope its not) how can I get inside the dash; by going underneath or removing some of the dash body? Thanks a lot to everyone. I am finally getting to the bottom of this.

I am finally getting to the bottom of this.I've only worked on one or two Vibes in the last while, and getting under the dash is the only way to go. There is no discernable way of removing the dash plate (some cars can, some can't). simply move the driver seat all the way back, jimmy urself around and look up I'm 6 foot 1 and 265 lbs, if I can do it so can you!! Take a look around for a small black box with a wire harness going to it. It will be tie wrapped or taped to something, looking like it was obviously added later. Can you describe what the remote control looks like? better yet, can you post a pic? this will help determine if you need a toggle or a pushbutton style. Once you locate the brain you can release it from its location (cut the tape or tiewraps) and pull it down some. Examine the unit and you'll find a bunch of small plug in ports, all different colours. If I recall correctly Omega uses a dark blue 2 pin port for the Valet....plug the switch you get in and ur off to the races!!good luck,b

The best way into the dash is to remove the plastic around the steering column. There's one screw on the bottom of the steering column, one behind either side of the wheel itself. Take out those, and you can pull the bottom plastic part off, giving you a clear view of under the dash (or most of it).Depending on how they installed it, it might be sitting on top of the fusebox to the left, or you might see it tie-wrapped up in the dash somewhere. As for the switch, it's not generally a requirement. It's 50/50 which times i'll actually attatch the switch (generally I would for a security system, generally not for keyless). He should've put it in, but it would appear that he didn't, you won't know till you trace the wiring. Also, Slappy, not all shock sensors are in the same place. It's up to the installer where it goes. Mine is tucked next to the DRL module, so I can get to it by removing the steering column. It's not something I have to adjust more than once, so it's not somewhere where someone can mess with it. Also, the plug the valet switch plugs into is not always standardized. You'd need a pushbutton (or toggle, depending) with the proper connector on the end, or else short the pins with a paperclip or something.

Found It!!!!!!I took of the face plate for the LED followed that back to the module which was in a hard plastic case tucked underneath the dash. Then I found the plug for the valet switch on the module and followed that to the switch which was tucked down by the floor where that big plastic foot rest is.Taking off the bottom have of the steering column helped a bunch and was easy to do.I cannot thank you guys enough!!! Another dilemma solved by the gracious Vibe fanatics at GenVibe!!!
