Gear Shift Knob

Greetings....Well ive been away for a couple weeks. Been working on other projects (tablet notebook and paintball guns), so I havent had the time or cash to work on my vibe as much as I wanted to (SINNER!!!)One of the reasons why I wanted to get a stick shift, it I wanted to get the custom shift knobs. I have an idea to "trick" out one that I can get. But I need some info from the rest of you that have replaced your knob (Dont you hate it when guys replace/swap out their knobs, gzzz). heheheAnyways, here is a picture of the knob: What I want to do, it run a LCD light or a very small neon light up from the bottom and drill a very small hole into the crystal to "encase" the light tip.Then just feed the wire down through the boot and just tap into a power source. Im hopeing that I can get the light to "glow" the crystal ball. (desiding on having it a "on" thing or switch it)Im not quite sure where I can get that kinda light, but I do have a pen that lights up using that kinda technology. Might tear it appart and see if its small enough.Anywho, what is needed to remove the knob. boot and "ring" between the knob and boot.I have tried "gently" to twist the knob and nothing. I didnt want to start really twisting till I knew how to take care of it.So if anyone has suggestions or ideas, please give me a heads up.oh...and how about this one? drill out the eyes and you could easily make them glowing useing the same ideas. Not something I would put in my Vibe but if I was driving like an old 85 Chev van with a beautiful woman painted on the side surrounded by wolves with mountains in the background... Oh YEAH! I like the first one.There is no ring to hold the shifter knob on. Just unscrews counter clockwise.

ive seen glowing eyed skull shift knobs at autozone.for the first one radio shack sells led lights. my shiftkob has four red ones has a switch and battery in the knob .
