Don't speed in Italy

Post by Pablo1669 »

INDUSTRY NEWSITALIAN SPEEDERS BEWARE .... A Lamborghini Gallardo has been donated to the Italian State Police by Automobili Lamborghini SpA. The V10, 500 bhp 190 mph performance car sports the colors of the state police and includes a siren and flashing lights on the roof. This is the first time that a Lamborghini will be used by Italian police. Traffic police will use the Gallardo police car during emergency situations on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway in southern Italy. The vehicle has four-wheel drive and during winter months will be fitted with special "Sottozero" snow tires developed by Pirelli for Lamborghini.

I bet they won't want to ram or push the criminal off the road, lots of $$$ to repair. I sure would love to see one of those in a high speed chase!

I'll bet the police officers will be fighting over who gets it as their patrol car!

Something tells me that the back seat is probably a little to small. Just like "Need For Speed, Hot Pursuit."

I think it depends on the person speeding. Serial killer will mostly get followed when speeding 100mph or more. I think for little things like running a light they are not supposed to chase.

Those police interceptor crown vic's are not slouches. They are not the typical factory crown vic that everyone thinks of.As for high speed chases, it is situationally specific as to whether they will chase or not. 9 times out of 10 they will though, so it really is not worth it. They may call off the chase if it enters a highly populated area and it would be a greater risk to innocent people to chase the car than it is worth. I have never heard that there is any set speed that will indemnify you from being chased by police once you reach it. That would be silly. I've seen episodes of COPS where they clocked people over 100 MPH and gave chase. And if you run from the cops, they just try even harder to get you. It's really not worth it since they will almost always either get you or you will kill yourself trying to get away.
