Help me Mod me out....

Post by elrodvoss »

Greetings...1st off I would like to say im sorry for posting this. I could use the search feature, but it would take me the better half of a day to find everything and with 10+ postings on the same topic here and there and few of them with complete info I wanted to make 1 big mod posting.I am looking at getting various and several upgrades for my 03 Vibe GT. I bought the car used (carmax) with only 3440 miles on it. I have the extended warrenty on it (till 94,000 miles), so I will also need to know what will effect and/or void warrenty.I have already placed an order for the AMSOIL. I got 5qt, filter, and engine cleaner. So that will have be sitting pretty for the next 25K.CAI I am looking at getting a CAI system as well, as that is the best "1st" mod you can get for your vibe. I have been reading up on them and I guess I wouldnt want a "short CAI", but get the one that has the intake in the front wheel well. I believe that is the best one. Where can you buy one and any suggestions on brands? Unichip I am also interested in the "unichip" that I have been hearing on and off. I like the idea that you get the increased at around 3500-4000 RPM, cause that is where I usualy cruise at. Of all the posting that I have found on the unichip, I havent found a website for it yet, unless I didnt see it.Exhaust: Does an aftermarket exhaust system really improve your performance that much?? I have done little research for exhaust, only cause I dont understand the concept of it. Its a pipe, gasses flow out of it. How is that difficult, but that is my lack of understanding. Where can you get a good system, but also I dont want these "loud" pipes. I kinda like my quiet car. SideNote I loved how 1 guy made his exhaust into a dual, that was just tight as hell. Headlights: What are good aftermarket lights to put in your car. I have seen the 7K ones on ebay for like 50-75$, but I keep hearing that they blow after 3 months. I keep reading on some lights called ?silverstars? I think I found their website, but I wanted to make sure. That is all the mods that I can think of. Everything else is just the graphic stuff, but that is kinda straight forward. There are other mods, but im trying to stay under the $1,000 price range for now. These will keep me happy and bussy for a nice long while. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to post or contact me with them. Take care and fair thee well....

If your going with the chip, make sure it can be removed before service work is done that might be considered for warranty repair. One look at that and they'll void your warranty.CAI, Exhaust from the cat back, unichip are the main mods for the GT that can increase performance however I think there is one person here with a turbo on his but I could be mistaken.

The compression is to high in the GT that turbo would blow the engine.Unless you did some serious engine work.

right... stafford is working on a turbo for the 2zz engine and most likely would have to include some major engine pieces... i'm sure it would cost min of $4-4500 for the whole set up! yikes!!!! at that point, i would most likely trade my vibe gt in for something different. unless i had the thing completely paid off and my warranty was done.

I think the reason it makes an improvent is because the stock pipes are smaller also the muffler is made for low noise restricting air flow out. The more air you get in and the faster you get it out the more HP you get. If you decide on getting exhaust go with Magnaflow increse in HP of about 8 compared to Borla's 2 or 3 hp. also at http://www.Ptuning.com
