For the first time in my life, last night I paid $20 US to fill my tank. Even my bonneville didn't cost that much with a bigger tank (despite lower prices). Absurd I tell you.EDIT: I should mention that's for regular octane, not premium.

I'm glad it's only the first time for you Raging. I've been spending that since March. Our average for Premium (91 Octane) is $2.13 and climbing. There's one filling station here that appears to have stopped selling premium gasoline all together. It's off their sign and not selectable at the pump. It would of course be the one nearest my house, but that's another story.

Regular is up to $2.09 here today. Just last Monday I was paying $1.89. That is a huge boost over the course of a week! I can handle some increases now and then, but its gone up over 50 cents since the winter, and I don't get a raise every month to counter these kinds of price inflations with! Anyone notice other stuff is up too? Food prices have all gone up. I drink a lot of grapefruit juice and that has gone up about $.25 a bottle, beer is up, pop is up, bread and milk, eggs, everything is up! Not to mention other utilities (electric, gas). Yet the feds say inflation is low? Oh yeah, that is right, the feds consider inflation to be wage increases, and I will agree, wages are not going up.

Premium is around $2.01 - $2.10 around Metro Atlanta. 87 Octane is around $1.80 - $1.90. Sadly, i'm somewhat used to this. The last couple of years when I was on Long Island going to Hofstra (college), Premium prices had hit about these levels. So $20 a tank is fairly usual. The sad part is, my fiancee's 2000 Grand Am is costin' just about as much for a fill, for the same mileage. So now I don't feel as bad.

I was wondering just how much I could spend to fill up the Vibe... Don't ask me why, I'm just weird like that. So, I hit the button for premium, and $25 later I was done. Yikes.Around here right now, it's about $2 per gallon for 87 octane petrol. I'm glad the Vibe gets decent mileage, although I'm wanting more. Really wish I had a Prius sitting out there right now. That's the only car I'm considering right now to replace the Vibe.It simply boggles my mind how folks can own huge SUV's and spend hundreds of dollars a month for fuel. I just don't get it. But, we still have it better than folks in Europe when it comes to what we're paying at the pump.

Our gas prices went down from $2.009 to $1.959 this morning. WooHoo! Still expensive, but $0.05 per gallon is money in my pocket!
