Quote, originally posted by jake75 »What about COST? Also, from a service standpoint, there are many more Pontiac dealers than Mazda dealers. If yu are looking to buy a mazda 3 right away, you are probably going to pay close to sticker because it is still new. The vibe has been around the block by now and you can get a substantial discount on one. GM also likes to play games with incentives, so if you time it right, the vibe can be a hell of a steal. Most of the issue of cost will be when you decide to buy your next car. One day the 3 could be cheaper and the next day the vibe could be cheaper. I like to look at http://www.carsdirect.com a lot to see what prices are for certain cars in my area. It is a good site that gives you instant price quotes instead of making you wait a couple of days to speak to some dealer. If you are worried about dealership service costs, I think Mazda has a longer warranty. Again, carsdiect.com has lots of info to look at regarding warranties too.

There are a lot of people getting the vehicles at or below invoice, and probably more at something like $500 over invoice stuff like that - so you just have to see what you can work out with a dealer. As far as warranty goes, it's a 48 month 50,000 mile warranty ... which I am looking to expire ASAP so I can drop a nice turbo in

Well yesterday when driving around town to get some things done, there was this grew Mazda 3 that kept appearing in my path over and over again as though to tease me... I was wiping drool by the time he drove off and I know if I was an unhappy Vibe owner I'd be looking into one of those. However being a VERY happy Vibe owner with lots of plans for this car, I'm not getting one.Unless a lot of money comes my way... lottory?

Price may decide which I get (assuming my Vibe is not recovered - 3 weeks so far). My first car was a 323 and I put 80k miles on it - great basic car. I get S-plan Mazda pricing (at or just below invoice) and I am a new college grad ($500). Similar equipped Vibes are more expensive MSRP, but current rebates make it close. I will likely wait for the '05 3, but I don't like how the '05 Vibe looks. Right now, 3 sales are increasing every month, so it may be a while til there are extra incentives.
