Finally! New Wheels are on!

Post by CaCathy13 »

Well, in the beginning of April I ordered some wheels from Wheelmax. Unfortunately, I have had MAJOR issues with my order. First, they sent me the wrong tires...I wanted Toyo T1S's, but I was sent FZ4's. I called to complain, and they said they were out of stock on the T1S's and theres no way they could have been ordered...even though the sales guy didn't say that. Second, I get sent 16 lugz. Friday, after having the wheels sitting at home for nearly 3 weeks, I get sent lungz after calling 9 times since April 12. The lugs were only sent on Wednesday. The sales manager, Pablo, is nothing short of a lying scumbag. I have left numerous messages regarding this mix up with my tires and he has NEVER called me back. I have only talked to him once and that is because I demanded to speak with him when I called. His options on fixing this was 3 ways:1) I dismount the ties, send them back, and exchange them for new tires...then have them mounted on the wheels again. PAYING FOR ALL OF IT!! On a mistake the sales guy made. How great?! 2) Giving me a $200 credit.3) I send it all back, at my expense, and get my full credit. This was his preferred option since, as he put it, "we'd at least be able to make some money on selling them to someone else".I chose the $200 credit...lo and behold, it's now only $100 and still, after 2 weeks, not one single penny has been credited back to me.I have had the most horrible, unreal experience with Wheel Max and their customer service department. My theory is this: the sales guy, not wanting to lose the sale by telling me he didn't have the T1S in stock, chose the FZ4 and thought I wouldn't notice--ya know, me being a girl and all. In fact, that's been the general treatment to me by anyone there...un-freaking-believeable. On Monday, if I don't egt my $200 credit, I will be phoning the better business bureau and calling my cc company and reporting them as fraud...but since I finally got my lugz, Mike and I put the wheels on. This has been the absolute worst buying experience I have ever had...but I can't help but say I am in love with my wheels. Thankfully Wheelmax just sells them because it would be hard to hate them if they actually made them. They are: 17 x 7 G-Racing (Giovanna) Mito's in chrome. The wheels were on sale-which was why I bought them in the first place, but the 18's were sold out. I liked them so much I just said to hell with it and got the 17's. They are a little small for my taste, but they really compliment the car and I think anything bigger, especially in these chromies, would look too pimp/ghetto for me. They are wrapped in 225/45/17 Toyo FZ4's. Ok tires...basically the prototype of the T1Ss...I don't think there is anything good I can say about them. I am thoroughly disappointed that I am stuck with these...Anyway, here are some pics.

cathy, just to let you know, that credits can take up to 30 days to post to your acct. if you want to know if they did send a credit to you, you should call your card issueing bank and ask them. banks tend to like to hold onto funds for as long as they can so they can gain interest.

Looks pretty good Cathy. I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience with Wheel Max but thanks for warning all of us about them. I love that hood! I can't wait until the big meet when we can put our Vibes side by side again.

I've heard only bad things about wheelmax. It seems almost everyone gets a different tire then was ordered. Maybe it's only those with this problem that bring it up but I've heard about this many other times. The FZ4 isn't near the tire of a T1S. The new Proxes 4 came out to bridge the gap in an all season. Consider trading them as new take offs. Your car is just too nice for this comprimise. Some tire shops give very good credits. I don't see how they can justify giving you $100 credit for tires that new, cost $200 less before any other consideration. Mail order can suck but I've used it too. If I can get somewhere close in price locally I'll give em the extra 10%. In this case I bet you couldn't match locally because they would have actually given you whay you wanted. Wheelmax sucks.

I love those wheels! Now you need some yellow decals to compliment the yellow brake calipers and pontiac logo. Very nice look!

Looks very good, nice wheels!I have also heard horror stories about wheelmax and am sorry to hear about your misfortune. Ask them to send you proof of refund such as a receipt or invoice and if you don't get it in a week call your credit card company and start a chargeback (dispute) This will get them moving.Good luck and please keep us posted.Sam

The wheels look nice , although the spokes are a little thin for my taste. Sorry to hear about what happened with wheelmax. I heard mixed things about them and came very close to buying some from them last fall but am glad I decided not to. Here is a link to some info: http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...82519 . I just bought from tirerack and their service was great, very happy with my purchase from them.I hope everything works out for you.Later,

I already have yellow decals from Grafxwerks, but I dind't go nuts with them. I have the front arrow head and the back arrowhead along with vibe and gt. I shaved my sides. I have a few other yellow decals, specifically a yellow XM one that Ryan made me to go on still.Wow, had I known wheelmax was so crappy I really wouldn't have bought them there. It's so hard to find a place with decent prices and good customer service... They haven't heard the last of me yet!!Like I said, I don't like these tires and they don't even compare to the T1S's...but oh well. At least now my boyfriend can beat on them and we can have some fun at the track and I won't be *****ing about wearing down my tires...
