i just got the deal of the century at Circuit City. I got the Polk DB6500 component set for onyl $78. It was a open box, that never got put into the sound wall. This retail for at least $230. So now, i will have Polk/MOMO MM6 components in the the front and the db6500 in the rear. With 8 speakers the Vibe is goin to sound unreal.
i live at Circuit City!!!!! Not a joke, i just called to make a appointment to get them installed on Friday, and the customer service girl knew who i was on the phone, without me saming my name. My work is next door so i go just about everyday to see all my Road-Shop buddies.
Mike: I'll go through the open box shelf we have at the store tonight. I know there's at least two or three MTX 311D Mono amplifiers in there for $129 apiece.I'll go through and see what's in there. If anyone wants something, I can put it in "reserve" (otherwise known as hide it in the back room) and you can send me some money, and i'll ship it out. We have the Sony MEX1HD in there too for $749, I might be able to get it for around $500..but...because I really wanted it and don't have the cash, if you want it, throw in an extra $50 as a "haha, I got it" fee. For those of you who don't know, the Sony MEX1HD was the headunit with a 10Gig HD in it that can rip CDs and store them on the internal harddrive, as well as transfer via MemoryStick and USB.Also, my Polk MM6's were open box at my store, for $129.

Very interesting..they gave you the speaker grilles from a pair of Polk/MOMO MM6's... I like the look, though!

Yeah, i swapped out my grills for the MOMO ones. Sorry about the pics, i'm not really even sure how to do it, they automatically resize on my computer so i don't know they are too big.
The easiest way to get smaller pictures for the web is to set the option on your digital camera to take smaller pictures. The second easiest way is to use a program like IrfanView (freeware) to view and resize. You can find this program at http://www.irfanview.com/For the web, 640x480 is a decent size for most pictures. If you're trying to show lots of detail, you can go higher, but your pictures are simply huge. To see how big they are, right click on them in Internet Explorer and select Properties. On the properties form, the size is shown as "Dimensions"

As of today, there were three MTX 311D's for $129 apiece. An MTX 411D for $149, and that Sony MEX1HD for ...uh.. $740, or around there.. The rest i'm kinda scetchy on.

I was considering a Kenwood HU and music keg...would this be a better solution? Although, I see that Sony discontinued this unit...do you have any idea why Jahntassa?

Although, I see that Sony discontinued this unit...do you have any idea why Jahntassa? The Sony would definitely be an all-in-one. And no offence, but i'd take the Sony over the Kenwood (my own opinion)Reasons for Sony to discontinue the MEX1HD:1) It first retailed for around $1,2002) It was built on the hype of the RioCar (which also died out)3) The mainstream public isn't into MP3s enough to make money off the unit4) The public is stupid, and doesn't understand the concept5) Sony is getting strapped for cash, and can't afford to have a stockpile of units that is mostly "too expensive"Granted, the thing is still a great concept, and the display, even though black and white, is still amazing to watch. Sony put their time into the unit.. and 10 Gig is nothing to cough at.
