I can't remember if my gas struts for the rear hatch were ever better than they are now. If I open the hatch halfway then it just sits there...I thought it used to power open by itself from about halfway but I could be dreaming??So how are everyone elses struts working....have mine lost pressure?-Phil

I had a car a few years ago and the hood struts gave way and it was covered under warranty. (Bumper to Bumper). Since that item is not subjected to road bangs day in and day out it should be treated like the rest of the items on a car . But yes tires , brakes etc are not covered . But I am sure these are. If I open mine more than 9 inches, it opens the rest of the way by itself.at just past nine inches, it is really slow, but that is about the threshold where it will start to move up by itself. How far do you have to open it up to get it to open the rest of the way by itself? Do the stuts seem like they hold it open ok?
I have to open mine almost 3/4 of the way for it to power itself up. Time for new struts I guess. I have 42k, but also have the 100,000mi warranty but it has a $100 deductable so I'll just take care of this expense out of pocket.-Phil

Mine seems hard to open at times. I guess it must be the added weight of the twin spoilers. Wished they had considered that before they made those spoilers an option on the car.

Doesn't fly open until about 3/4 of the way...personally, I prefer it like that. *shrug*
