Pontiac's warranty can rot in hell....

Post by shizon_g »

So last week I called my dealership to check out the issues with my cd player ticking while braking and the obnoxious door rattle while music was on. I called off three hours today so I could have them look into the issues with my car. After an hour and a half passes I am called in to pick my car up. Nothing was performed to correct the problems with my vehicle. I was told that since my car has manual windows that they could do nothing to fix the rattle although I still see a noticable gap in between the door's interior and the door itself. The cd player is still 'ticking' while braking at random times. What more can I do to get this corrected? Is my dealership broke, inexperienced or just plain lazy? It seems that all others on the board were able to have their issues corrected ASAP.Unhappy owner of my POS '03 Vibe

Take the vehicle to the next dealer closest dealer. I had to do this with my vehicle to get work done to it. If another dealer is to far you should talk to the service manager. If this does nothing then speak with the person who runs the dealership.Pontiac should also have a number you can call to complain about a dealership. I'm sorry I don't have this number but look in your owners manual. This problem could have been fixed by replacing your radio. They could have driven your vehicle with the panel off to pin point where the noise was coming from and then fix it. That is crazy they didn't do anything and wasted your time. Very (removed) poor and makes Pontiac look like crap.

(removed) poor is right, I spend almost $20,000 a couple of months ago and now I am treated like crap???? What is the deal with these people. When I needed body work from an accident they were more than happy to keep my car for 13 days to make sure it was perfect and charge my insurance $$$ but when it has to come out of their own pockets they can't do anything. I'll look up the warranty 1-800 # and see what I can stir up.

The thing is when the dealer works on your vehicle for warrenty reasons that's all money in the dealerships pocket. Reason being GM sends them a fat check every month to cover parts and to pay hour wages. Warrenty work is what makes a dealer the most money. Not car sales.

Not car sales.Very True. but I worked at a small Chevy dealership in Ortonville MI, and the service guys were so lazy, they would just send people away just like that. You have to really go to the guys in charge to get anything done at these crappy dealers (Sims Chevy). Go to a different dealer. Go to Al Serra in Grand Blanc MI. They rock with service.

I may have to chek out Causley. My car was purchased at Red Holman which I understand was recently bought out by 2 guys not used to such a large lot. All I know is I will never refer anyone to have anything done there.

Has anyone tried Rinke (Van (removed) & 696)? I'm thinking they may be a good choice since they also sell / maintain Toyotas.

Yes-Rinke is good also but Causley seems to suit me better and is closer to home. I bought my Vibe from Rinke. James

I ended up buying my Vibe from Fresard in Royal Oak, but Bob Jeanotte is the closest Pontiac dealer to me -- so I was thinking of going there for routine oil changes and any warranty repairs.
